If you have any information regarding this production, the locations or, even better, some comparison shots please contact us. Images submitted must be in Landscape orientation, as would be seen on the cinema screen, not Portrait.

We are aware that there are films on the site that were added when the criteria for the inclusion of locations was very different from today and, as a result, there may be scenes missing from some productions. Please do not forward additional screen captures to us but bring the detail to our attention, for we do, and are, 're-addressing' these older entries as time allows.

The pre-credit sequence opens in England as Moore takes some time to visit a poignant grave at St. Giles' church, Stoke Poges in Buckinghamshire.

The church yard is not far from the golf club seen in 'Goldfinger' while the church was seen in 'I Could Go On Singing'. SJ

Antony Blair gains a little height for a more accurate comparison.

The vicar informs Moore that a helicopter has been sent as there's an emergency in the office.

Keeping it in the family, brother Robin (RJ) took this shot. (SJ)

An update by Robert Redfern. (SJ)

Moore's respects to his wife are cut short. This field is next to the graveyard.

A lovely bit of rural England taken by Ben. (SJ)

The vicar watches as Moore departs.

SJ paying his own respects at Mrs. Bond's grave. Note the matching trees in the background. Taken by Victoria (SJ).

The graveyard, the hedge, the trees and the field by Antony Blair.

Moore ejects the pilot over Beckton gasworks. Once the largest gasworks in the world, the location can also be seen in 'Max Headroom: 20 Minutes into the Future', 'Brannigan', 'Dusty Bates' and 'Nineteen Eighty-Four'.

  • 'Now' required

Moore prepares to slide the "Blofeld lookalike" (EON productions contractual legalities) off the helicopter into a chimney. The remains of Beckton Gas Works in Beckton, London E6.

Following Sheena Easton's opening credits song, Bouquet is escorted by seaplane to her parents' boat.

Looking south from Kalami, Corfu, Greece. Taken by Katherine Wegerer, sister of SJ. (SJ)

  • 'Now' required

Pilot (and Cuban hitman) Kalipha lands/seas the plane. Kalami is in the north-east of Corfu.

Bouquet embarks.

A detail from KW again. (SJ)

Hedley and Robins are surprised by the plane banking aggressively.

KW matching the background nicely. (SJ)

Moore travels to "Spain", specifically Madrid, in fact Corfu. The supposed entrance to Kalipha's luxury pad bought with ill-gotten gains. The entrance to Danilia Village, location of other scenes, north-west of Corfu Town. The replica 1930s Corfiot village gained popularity after ITV's The Durrells and is open with pre-booked tours or for guests of Grecotel.

An equally sunny view from Robert R. And haven't the trees done well? SJ

  • 'Now' required

Moore deals with some ruffians at the pool. This is the Villa Sylva off Nafsikas in Kanóni, right next to the airport, which went to seed and has since been restored. The property can be seen in 1970's 'The Executioner' and is available for rental, though pockets will have to be deep.

Bouquet and Moore escape from Kalipha's compound in a 2CV. This is Pagoi (Πάγοι), roughly where a google map search shows up a 'Spiros Bond 007' Cafe - Bar.

Dave Pike captures the location as it appears now.

  • 'Now' required

The pair pause for the night.

From Corfu to The Dolomites: the Miramonti Majestic Grand Hotel in Cortina d'Ampezzo

Hans visited in a different season. He took this from the road rather than lower to the right as trees impeded the view. (SJ)

Looking to the north-west of the resort from the hotel.

Hans opted for including the road and had to sacrifice part of the mountain match. (SJ)

Moore enjoys the view from the balcony of his room on the north-west corner next to the hotel's gazebo.

Hans captured the balcony. (SJ)

  • 'Now' required

Tofana is on the west side of the resort. Here Moore seeks his Italian contact Moreno... Ian Johnson adds this was filmed on the summit.

Bennett puts Johnson, whom Glover is sponsoring, thorough her paces at the since-covered Olympic Ice Stadium at the base of the Tofana cable car.

The covered look by Hans. (SJ)

Moore and Moreno looking onto the skating with buildings on the Via del Castello behind them to the north.

A nice match of slope (snow-free), roof and chalets by Hans. (SJ)

Moore investigates Bouquet entering a sports equipment shop on an upper level on Via Corso opposite the Piazza Venezia.

Hans went shopping. (SJ)

Bouquet emerges with her purchase of a crossbow as Moore entertains himself at a flower shop. The sun's a lot lower than the shot above.

Hans found a wintry glow even if it is out of season. (SJ)

Moore tackles the motorbike thugs attacking Bouquet. This is on the Via Corso with Foto Zardini Ottica now replaced with Paul & Shark.

Paul & Shark today by Hans. (SJ)

Slightly north, Moore and Bouquet catch a sleigh from outside the Hotel Royal with ice sculptures on the Piazza Roma.

Hans found some crowd barriers to mar the scene. (SJ)

Gothard and his heavies.

Hans plumped for this spot. The shadow is caused by the ski-jump ramp, just yards away from the elevator that took them up to the start position.(SJ)

Moore is attacked by ice-hockey players on the skating rink now roofed.

Hans found the rink deserted. (SJ)

Moore and Bouquet arrive in Kanóni with the Vlacherna Monastery in the left background.

Robert Redfern found the walkway. (SJ)

They wander through Corfu Town.

Another from Robert R. and it's till busy. (SJ)

Some traditional dancing to be enjoyed... Hans adds that this is in front of the restaurant Basilico, Αγίου Βασιλείου 34, 491 31 Korfu, Corfu.

Not so much dancing for Robert today. (SJ)

Pl. Leonida Vlachou on the east side of Corfu Town next to the Adriatic.

Damain Christian stuck to ground level for this one. (SJ)

They enjoy a majestic view looking towards Corfu Town from the balcony of the Achilleion further south. The Achilles statue is behind them.

Damian took this view. (SJ)

Moore meets Glover at the Achilleion Palace and casino, Gastouri.

It looks rather closed. Damian C. again. (SJ)

Glover and Moore observe Topol and Harris during dinner.

Robert also visited the palace. (SJ)

Moore and the "countess" Harris walk along the sand dunes of Halikounas Beach near Lake Korission in the south flatter side of the island of Corfu. A brief moment of peace before Gothard and Dance make a vicious attack... IJ suggests close-by: Issos beach close to Agios Georgios overlooking the coastline of the Ionian Sea.

Geoff Bartram, who took Robert around Corfu for his shots, adds his own of Issos Beach. (SJ)

Topol and Moore approach the Old Venetian Fortress from the north side. This is on the east coast of Corfu Town close to capture 30... IJ adds this and subsequent are standing in for Albania

  • 'Now' required

Moore takes aim at Gothard's car in the Fortress.

  • 'Now' required

Mercy is not shown as Moore brings back a bit of 007 ruthlessness.

Back to Danilia Village where Moore meets Llewelyn.

Another one from Robert R. (SJ)

The trail leads to the Agia Triada, Kalabatha, Meteora directly east of Corfu in the middle of mainland Greece.

This replaces, with apologies to him, Murray Hamilton's shot from June 2014 but posted in May '20 as Hans has managed to find the exact spot aligning the rock on the right particularly well. (SJ)

  • 'Now' required

Moore with the precious ATAC: this may have been a set built close to Agia Triada... Confirmed by IJ who adds, "built on top of an adjoining rock pillar from Agia Triada as the resident monks proved extremely uncooperative with the production company. Unlike Moore and Gotell, 007 could not establish any international detente with the incalcitrant monks!"

  • 'Now' required

That's "detente comrade" as Gotell and Moore exchange pleasantries.
