Shot in the arm Jim Forster (Dane Clark) staggers into the street. He exits from Black Horse Yard, Windsor.

Steve really didn't expect to see a staggering man to complete the scene. (RL)

He sees a car drive towards him. No 9 Park Street, Windsor.

The parking suspension was clearly not the day Steve visited. (RL)

Lord Peter Willens (Anthony Forwood) pulls up at some stables in his 1951 Allard J2 to see what horse might be free for a ride. Legitimate stables they may have been but Anthony Goulden identifies this as the courtyard of the still surviving 'Swan' public house in Mill Lane, Clewer, Windsor.

Anthony made the excuse of 'taking the dog for a walk' or maybe, 'I have to take a picture for ReelStreets' but he found good reason to call at 'The Swan' and took comparative shots for us. A distinct change of mood, and transport it would seem but it is heartening to see that the pub is still there and the location identifiable.

With that Jim Forster returns on his mount. What is now the courtyard of the 'The Swan' public house in Mill Lane, Clewer with sufficient features still remaining after all these years. With thanks to Anthony Goulden.

Anthony was quick to provide the comparative shot confirming the features that remain. How many patrons would remember it as per the capture?

A few days later Jim is driven to Berwick Street, London W1. That parade was also seen in ‘Final Appointment’.

He walks past the market stalls and turns off. I believe this could have been between 6 and 7 Berwick Street, now redeveloped. Dave W doesn't believe that it has been redeveloped, he says that we are looking at Tyler's Court. The tile effect corners remain. (RL)

Jim goes to a boxing match to watch a fighter he manages.

As he leaves the event with his ‘valet/chauffeur’ Sam (Thomas Gallagher) and friend/accountant Dave Davies (Meredith Edwards ) their passage is broken by Arturo Colonna (Eric Pohlmann) and his brother Angelo (Enzo Coticchia) who are trying to ‘buy’ his business.

After the Colonna brothers wreck his club and gambling flats he carries on ‘business as usual’ and goes to the races. Stock footage that I am sure I have seen before.

Where by chance he meets again Lady Susan Willens (Naomi Chance), sister of Peter. A terrace of Oakley Court, Windsor Road, Windsor perhaps?

The racing day continues. PW points out that this is the Royal Ascot Clocktower, also seen in 'The Calendar' Capture 11, that was demolished in the 1960's. The three 'Chapter Rings' (the clock's) were all retained and restored.

After agreeing to make an investment in a gold mining company through the Willens family he instructs Dave to dispose of all his assets and takes Susan out for the day. Gordon Cruickshank is certain that the view is from Petersham Meadows at Ham in Richmond, Surrey, looking west across the end of River Lane and over the Thames to Marble Hill Park.

John Harwood acknowledges that he would have preferred to be 6ft to the right but was impeded by a push chair, a large dog in the water and a crowd of tourists. (Quite a list but we know how you feel: there're so many hazards hindering our noble endeavours. SJ)

A vindictive ex-employee Jacko Spina (George Pastell) informs the police of the illegal gaming locations……..the police raid.

Another. Steve Randall recognises this as Black Horse Yard, Windsor, Berks., a very similar shot is also seen in 'Five Days'.

Now those Griffin’s would suggest Oakey Court Hotel on Windsor Road also seen in ‘Someone at the Door (1950)', 'What the Butler Saw', 'The Gambler and the Lady', ‘The Man from Nowhere’, ‘The Brides of Dracula’, 'Witchcraft', ‘The Man Who Finally Died’, ‘Nightmare’, 'The Curse of Frankenstein', ‘The House in Nightmare Park’ and ‘The Rocky Horror Picture Show’ amongst many other productions.

Jacko and Angelo kill David and beat up Sam so Jim chases after them.

Somehow Pat (Kathleen Byron), his previous girlfriend, sees his car pass by and chases after him.

Jim takes a hopefully identifiable bend.

Susan picks up Sam and she races to join the events.

After a shoot out with the Colonna brother and their men, a re-run of Captures 4 and 5, we find (no spoiler) who was driving the fatal car. Park Street, Windsor and the entrance to Black Horse Yard.
