The busy heart of London is portrayed by Piccadilly Circus. The Shaftesbury Memorial Fountain stands bottom centre, the Pavilion Theatre to the centre and Coventry Street on the right.

A quiet scene in the early morning. SJ

The voice of a newspaper vendor shouts out "Special Edition. Daffodil killer strikes again." This footage looks familiar, it's outside the Pavilion Theatre with the corner of Coventry Street and Haymarket in the background.

A taxi draws up in the street outside a terrace of flats. Looking south-west on the north side of Belgrave Square SW1 with the corner of Wilton Terrace in the left distance, identified by Steve Randall.

This section of Belgrave Square was also seen from the other direction in "Doctor at Large." SJ

The camera moves to the window behind which a Chinese Girl is murdered whilst telephoning Scotland Yard. Located by Steve Randall, this is facing numbers 6 to 2 Belgrave Square.

Everything exactly as was except for one chimney pot on the far left. SJ

After Flight 246 from Hong Kong lands at London Airport, Security Officer Jack Tarling (Joachim Fuchsberger), Safety Official (Peter Zander) and a Senior Customs Officer (John Herrington) make their way to the Customs Shed where a consignment of daffodils have been intercepted. Shepperton Studios in Middlesex

Tarling escapes from the Customs Shed as dynamite placed in an unconscious Customs Officer's pocket explodes just after he falls through the door.

Beneath Blackfriars Railway Bridge, a corpse is recovered from the River Thames. Facing east in SE1 with Rennies Wharf on the south bank of the river to the right and the twin towers of Cannon Street station in the distance.

From Blackfriars Bridge, Jack Tarling and his Chinese counterpart Ling Chu (Christopher Lee) look on as the body of Baker, chief clerk at Lyne & Co. Chinese Imports, is dragged from the water

Tarling heads for Piccadilly Circus to meet Ling Chu at his hotel. Facing Nuffield House at 41 to 46 Piccadilly W1.

To save disappointment I've posted this as a warning that there is not much to see at the moment. One hopes this can be replaced in the future. SJ

Tarling spots Katya as she falls backwards into a Flower Seller's basket of daffodils on the steps beneath "Eros". Piccadilly Circus with Swan & Edgar as the background and the eastern end of Piccadilly to the extreme left.

As Ling Chu steps out of his hotel, Tarling and the Flower Seller look down at Katya's lifeless body. A back projection featuring Piccadilly Circus with the White Bear public house at number 221 Piccadilly to the right.

With Ling Chu suggested to be the murderer by Inspector Whiteside, a police car drives waitress Trudi Mahler home from the Cosmos Club. Lambeth Palace Road SE1, on the pavement outside Moreton's Gateway with the Houses of Parliament across the Thames. The area can also be seen in 'The Cracksman', 'Mrs. Brown You've Got a Lovely Daughter', 'A Dandy in Aspic', 'European Vacation', 'The Tunnel', 'Secrets of a Door-to-Door Salesman' and 'Too Hot to Handle'.

Back at the Cosmos Club, singer Gloria begins her performance. Piccadilly Circus in W1 with the Pavilion Theatre to the left, Coventry Street ahead and the corner of Haymarket on the right.

When the club closes, Anne Ryder (Sabine Sesselmann) is escorted home by Lyne. Claverton Street SW1, facing Grosvenor Lodge with an address at 94 Grosvenor Road.

The address is easier to find these days. (PW)

Coming out of the shadows from where he was watching Lyne send Charles away alone, Ling Chu finds the businessman's Mercedes-Benz outside Trudi's home before entering the building. 82 Claverton Street stands to the right.

After Charles and Trudi are found dead in her flat, Tarling spots the Mercedes as he arrives at Lyne's office. Looking along Broadwick Street towards the Blue Posts public house at the corner of Berwick Street in Soho W1 with Hopkins Street to the right.

The changes are quite drastic to the right. (PW)

Narrowly escaping death at the office when an elevator door opens onto an empty shaft, Tarling takes a taxi to Anne's apartment. Claverton Street with Whitley House under construction to the left.

Insisting that she goes to stay with her Mother to be safe, Tarling puts Anne on a train. Looking onto platform 1 at Paddington station in London W2.

Cosmos barman Max (Martin Lyder), Inspector Whiteside (Walter Gotell) and Peter Keene stand over the body of Raymond Lyne after his body is dumped in a cemetery by a masked assailant. Although this appears to be a studio set, Corinna Goldsmith identifies it as being based on the Dalziel Mausoleum in Highgate Cemetery East on Swain's Lane N6.

Corinna also provides this comparison showing differences in the steps and doors.

Leaving London, Tarling drives to Mrs. Ryder's house after learning that Anne hadn't arrived.

Entering the property, Tarling discovers Oliver Milburgh standing over Mrs. Ryder's body at the foot of the stairs.

Keene escapes from Mrs. Ryder's house in Tarling's Standard Vanguard after throwing a knife at Milburgh.

Driving into the night, Keene heads towards London and the Brunswick Hotel where Anne is hiding.

Tarling follows Keene to the Capital in Milburgh's Triumph Herald. Looking towards what was 39 Hammersmith Broadway, W6 with King Street to the right and Hammersmiht Bridge Road to the left. The Swan Hotel is just out of camera shot to the right. See LPA 66341 to orientate. (RL)

Tarling arrives at the Brunswick where Inspector Whiteside has already been alerted by the Receptionist (Gundel Sargent).

Tricking Anne to leave the hotel and get into the car, Keene knocks her out as she struggles to take the wheel. Thurloe Street looking towards Cromwell Place, SW7. (RL)

Police patrols are alerted and join the search for Tarling's light blue Vanguard. South Kensington station at the junction of Old Brompton Road and Pelham Street in SW7. The station also features in 'Something in the City', 'Amelia and the Angel', 'Repulsion' and 'The Crying Game'.

A flower stall on the now pedestrianised forecourt blocks some of the view of South Kensington tube entrance. SJ

Keene drags Anne from the car and through the gates of Highgate Cemetery. Looking out through the gates next to the Mortuary Chapel onto Swain's Lane N6 with the gate posts of eastern part of Highgate Cemetery in the background.

Following a shoot out near the mausoleum where Lyne's body was found, Tarling leaves the cemetery with Anne.
