If you have any information regarding this production, the locations or, even better, some comparison shots please contact us. Images submitted must be in Landscape orientation, as would be seen on the cinema screen, not Portrait.
We are aware that there are films on the site that were added when the criteria for the inclusion of locations was very different from today and, as a result, there may be scenes missing from some productions. Please do not forward additional screen captures to us but bring the detail to our attention, for we do, and are, 're-addressing' these older entries as time allows.

Following a beating from her father for losing her job, Gwen Rawlings leaves home. Notwithstanding Dave W's earlier suggestion, on 'slim evidence', that this 'might be' London SE11, it did not bring forth the discussion that he and we had hoped. Drawn by another film and the streetlamp he has now concluded that this is Grimsby Street, London E2 looking west. Also seen in 'Run Fatboy Run' and 'Bartleby' . . . (RL)

. . . as well as in 'Shirley Valentine' and 'Tube Tales'. SJ

The young woman finds a room in a boarding house before getting a job as a cloakroom attendant in Max Vine's club. Christopher Matheson has provided conclusive evidence that this is Shelton Street, London WC2 looking towards what was 'The Prince Albert' public house on the corner of Upper St. Martins Lane and West Street. Just a few moments later, another email fell onto our virtual floor as Eamonn C also advised us of the location. (RL)

Having found the street, Eamonn C provided a GEV in Aug '20 as proof, pointing out the same basement grille and pavement lights. Now replaced by SJ.

Gwen arrives back in London after hitching a lift. Peter recognised the background pillars as belonging to a previous incarnation of the Odeon Cinema, Marble Arch which stood . . .
. . . at the corner of Edgware Road and Oxford Street.

A telephone box is found and Gwen calls her old employer Max, who has opened another club. Outside the Odeon Cinema, Marble Arch on the W1/W2 border. Location identified by Peter . . .

With the intention of robbing the owner, a car is stopped by Gwen after she falls in with two GI's who are on the run. Serpentine Bridge that marks the boundary between Kensington Gardens and Hyde Park in London W2. Also seen in 'What a Whopper' and 'The Seventh Veil'.
A daylight comparison from Peter.
