Can you help:
If you have any information regarding this production, the locations or, even better, some comparison shots please contact us. Images submitted must be in Landscape orientation, as would be seen on the cinema screen, not Portrait.
We are aware that there are films on the site that were added when the criteria for the inclusion of locations was very different from today and, as a result, there may be scenes missing from some productions. Please do not forward additional screen captures to us but bring the detail to our attention, for we do, and are, 're-addressing' these older entries as time allows.

After the establishing scenes set in a Walton-on-Thames studio to represent a Japanese prisoner-of-war camp in Burma, the present-day (1960) action starts with the hospital from where Taplow (Harold Scott) is kidnapped.

Having identified the location as what was The Royal Free hospital many years ago, Denis Hoare had an opportunity to return to a much changed scene to take this shot from that of the films camera. In doing so, he advises that the old hospital building was demolished but never built over until very recently, and is now called 'The Pears Building'. The tiered planting has narrowed the entrance road coming in from Haverstock Hill at the top as it used to be, the room for parking a few cars in front as shown in the original screen capture is now lost.(RL)

Detectives Munyard and Pollitt (Leigh-Hunt and Cooney), on the case, leave the hospital. The old Hampstead General Hospital on Pond Street NW3, now the Royal Free Hospital, identified by Dennis Hoare. (SJ)

Denis panned slightly left from his Capture 1 shot to reveal the actual entrance to the building as it is now. (RL)

Establishing shot of Allin (All In?) House Nursing Home where hand surgery was performed on Scott. This is the Tower Maternity Annexe for the North Middlesex Hospital, formerly the home of Gracie Fields, 49 The Bishops Avenue N2. It was demolished in 2004 to create three apartment blocks. (SR)

Whilst the film action is supposed to take place in East London evidence proves otherwise. Malden Place, London NW5 looking towards Grafton Terrace.

It would be difficult to pass as East London now. CM/PC

Some street scenes. This one has me stumped for a while, as Grove is legible but Quadrant needed some guesswork. Quadrant Grove at the junction with Malden Place NW5.

Malden Place with Quadrant Grove off to the left travelling towards Malden Road, London, NW5, found way back in 2016 by Christopher Matheson (CM) and taken by Paul Canty (PC).

And this cut did not help as it's the same area as above but the wrong direction and from a dead end. Fortunately Thurlow Terrace is just about legible placing this in London NW5.

Avoiding trespass, Grafton Terrace, London NW5 with Thurlow Terrace clearly going off to the left with St Pancras Almshouses spire in the background. CM/PC

And this is Grafton Terrace, not all that well covered by Streetview so will need some shoe leather to "now".

Shoe leather has been used: Grafton Terrace, London NW5 with Malden Place on the extreme left, along with the de rigueur RS scaffolding. CM/PC

Leigh-Hunt and Cooney show more urgency in their investigation in Grafton Terrace.

Grafton Terrace, London NW5 looking towards Malden Road.

Clearly re-development has taken place on Malden Road and the Malden Arms on the corner has long gone. CM/PC

Crawshaw/Roberts (Bond) runs to hide from the police in, supposedly, Norfolk... recognised by RL as Hurst Wood Mill, Ewhurst, Surrey also seen in 'Hidden Homicide'.
