Following the marriage of Lord Peter Wimsey and Miss Harriet Vane at St. Thomas's church in Belgrave Square, the happy couple set off for their honeymoon in the country. Anthony Spencer instantly recognised Dartmoor in Devon, looking west to Widdecombe-in-the-Moor with the tower of St. Pancras church just right of centre.

The village of Biddlecombe in Devon, where Lord Peter has purchased the Manor of Tallboys for his bride. Rather than the actual Devon, as suggested on some websites, this appears to be a set at Denham Studios in Buckinghamshire. However, other screen captures may indeed feature the West Country county.

The shot follows His Lordship's car until it comes to a stand outside an ivy clad hostelry. Facing The Crown public house in Penn which also makes an appearance in 'Fast and Loose', ‘The End of the Line’ and 'John and Julie'.
