Hitch in Time, A (Children’s Film Foundation)

Grandpa Hatton-Jones (Ronnie Brody) surveys his garden. Station Gardens, Grove Park in Chiswick W4 located by Frank West.

After lunch, Paul calls for Fiona and they return to the castle. Having grown up there, Frank West recognised Station Gardens in Chiswick and recalls one of the crew coming to the back door of his home to ask for some water.

Paul and Fiona return to school after a journey through time. David G. Wenham identifies this as approaching the Corona Academy on Ravenscourt Avenue W6.

The pair discover that instead of returning to school in the afternoon, they are reliving the morning. The current Ravenscourt Park Preparatory School on Ravenscourt Avenue recognised by Mark Davies which David G. Wenham explains was the Corona Academy at the time of filming. David's evidence is that the stage school's green and gold blazers with the the academy badge on the breast pocket are seen hanging on changing room pegs during one of the interior scenes. The building also appears in 'Secrets of a Windmill Girl', 'Victim' and 'Spare the Rod' and Mark points out that the location can also be seen in 'Supersonic Saucer'.

There has since been an addition to the left. SJ

When another journey through time is cut short, Paul and Fiona find a newspaper carrying headlines about the Queen's Coronation in 1953. Donnington Castle near Newbury in Berkshire.

Still dressed in medieval clothing, the two head to school where they meet a younger version of teacher Sniffy Kemp. Mark Davies identifies this as the current Ravenscourt Park Preparatory School on Ravenscourt Avenue in Hammersmith. Telling us that when filming took place the school was the Corona Academy, David G. Wenham adds that the young actors who performed in this production attended the stage school and the child extras would also have been pupils. The Corona Academy closed in February 2013 when founder Rona Knight passed away, after which the premises became the preparatory school .

Without access to the school, this will have to do for the time being. SJ

When he finds out Fiona's name, the Headmaster returns the pair to Mr. Hatton-Jones.

On a final trip to the past, Paul and Fiona come face to face with an earlier incarnation of Sniffy Kemp as a highwayman.
