Peter and Eve after a long train journey arrive at their honeymoon retreat. Basil Vickerman identifies this location as Dalcross Castle, fifteen minutes drive from Inverness in Scotland. At the time of the movie, the castle was owned by Harold Fraser-Simson whose wife, Cicily was the author of the book , "Footsteps in the Night" which the movie is based on.

Basil's confirmation on this location being Dalcross Castle was spot on as Richard's 2007 Now capture confirms.

At the station, Eve says goodbye to Peter who needs to return to London.

Eve waves a sad farewell as she watches Peter's train leave. Basil Vickerman has identified the station as Aviemore in Inverness-shire, then called Aviemore Junction, on the Highland Railway in Scotland.

Being pursued, Eve's Chauffeur struggles to keep the car under control. Manuel Gurtner advises that the car is a Bentley 4½ Litre Supercharged, built in the same year as the movie was made, and it still exists today. Basil Vickerman has identified this location as Dulsie Bridge on the Old Military Road, Narin near Inverness in Scotland.

Creating a dust storm in their tracks, Eve and her Chauffeur race to the railway station.

Basil Vickerman found this location. It is Daviot, Inverness in Scotland. The white cottage is Smithy Cottage, now altered and extended, but can be clearly seen in the movie.

Meanwhile, the Royal Scot express approaches the station.

The Station Master awaits the arrival of the Royal Scot. Although the sign says "Craigenlarich", I can find no evidence that this station name ever existed. Basil Vickerman says this is almost definitely Daviot in Scotland while Christopher Matheson found an old newspaper of the time that confirms it is indeed Daviot. (RL)

Although this is not a now shot of Daviot station, here are a couple of snippets from the "Courier" Newspaper of 8th June 1931 and "Nelson Leader" 22nd July 1932 supplied by Basil Vickerman in support of his location identification.

Having arrived after Eve's train had departed, Judson heads back to the car to give chase.

The Royal Scot makes progress through the Highlands . . .

Judson manages to keep pace with the train.

In a hurry as the train arrives at the station, Judson arrives outside.

Having rushed onto the station yard, Judson rushes to board the departing train at Aviemore Junction which, Manuel Gurtner tells us, is located on the Highland Main Line between Perth and Inverness, at that time operated by the London, Midland and Scottish Railway.

The Royal Scot arrives at Euston station. The terminus stands on Euston Road in London NW1.

Eve leaves the station in a taxi with Judson following in another. Euston railway station's famous Doric Arch which once stood where the ramp from the station concourse to platforms 8 to 11 now runs. Views of the old station also appear in 'No Place for Jennifer', 'No Love for Johnnie', 'Indiscreet', 'Night Train for Inverness' and 'Play It Cool'.

Getting out of the cab and continuing on foot, Eve continues to be pursued by Judson. Christopher Matheson identifies this as "the top end of the lower part of Regent Street at Piccadilly Circus". (RL)
