On his way to ask permission of her family to marry Cynthia Marley, encyclopedia salesman John Robinson passes Huntley Brothers before turning right. 'Huntley Bros.' were in Church Street, Walton-on-Thames, Surrey and that parade looks very much as though they could have been at No3, now the 'Nationwide'. (RL)

John arrives at the dilapidated mansion where Cynthia lives with her Grandfather, uncles Reginald and Percival as well as cousins Cornwallis, Muldoon and Natalia. Matte, model or mansion?

Inside the house, John learns that cousin Creighton had passed away prior to his arrival . . . to be followed by the death of Cornwallis after dinner. The Vicar follows the family from the church. St. Mary Magdalene church on Squire's Bridge Road, Littleton. The church appears in many films including 'Dad's Army' from 1971, 'Craze', 'The Dock Brief', 'The Jigsaw Man', 'Adventures of a Private Eye' and 'Once in a New Moon'.
