Kate Williams (Jayne Collins) joins her brothers. Having escaped from the nearby Harefield Prison, convicts Terry Sladden (Robin Askwith) and Joseph Blake (Ray Barrett) come across the farm while looking for somewhere to lay low. Looking down onto Stockers Farm on Stockers Farm Road to the south of Rickmansworth.

Blake complains about his leg that was injured during the escape as he and Sladden watch Peter make his way into the house for breakfast. Stockers Farm near Rickmansworth, Hertfordshire.

After the family have eaten, Mr. and Mrs. Williams set off to town with their daughter Helen. Stockers Farm at the end of Stockers Farm Road off Harefield Road, Rickmansworth.

A Policeman (Jeremy Bulloch) and his Colleague arrive at the farm to carry out a routine check following the prison break, after which Sladden and Blake make their move. Stockers Farm in Hertfordshire.

As the Prisoners head to the house when they see the Police leave, Mr. and Mrs. Williams arrive in town with Helen. Seen across the Pond on The Green in Harefield, Greater London, this is looking towards the roundabout at the junction of Breakspear Road North, High Street, Park Lane and Rickmansworth Road.

Leaving her husband George to continue on to the market, Mrs. Williams (Ellen McIntosh) walks through the town with Helen (Lucinda Gorell-Barnes). Facing southward on Church Street, Rickmansworth.

Helen turns down an alley for her appointment at the dentist while back at the farm, the Convicts enter the house and take Peter, Kate and Tim hostage. Facing the Vicarage at 10 Church Street in Rickmansworth.

Coming out of the dentists after her check-up, Helen crosses the road towards an electrical shop. High Street in Rickmansworth with number 151 to the left.

Helen enters the shop to buy a present for her Mum. Facing number 149 High Street, Rickmansworth.

Hearing a news report about the escaped Prisoners on a radio playing in the shop, Helen rushes outside to look for her Mum. Looking east on High Street.

Turning a corner, Helen enters a chemists. Boots was, and currently still is, at 78 High Street, Rickmansworth.

While the youngster looks around inside Boots, Mrs. Williams comes out of W.H. Smith. W.H. Smith traded from number 74 High Street until part of the business was sold in 2025.

Running to the cattle market, Helen asks the Auctioneer if he's seen her Father.

Discovering a fault on the line when trying to telephone home, Helen makes her way to the police station.

Acting on what Helen has explained, an Inspector dispatches a squad car to Piper's Farm.

With his Brother and Sister held in another room, Peter opens the door to a Policeman (Mike Lewin) and his driver Fred (Joe Wadham) before telling them that all is well, as instructed. Looking through the door at Stockers Farm, Rickmansworth.

After Peter is forced to telephone the surgery from a call box down the road, Dr. Balfour (Julian Holloway) gets into his car after receiving a radio message to go to Piper's Farm. Antony Blair found this house standing on Harefield Road between Rickmansworth and Harefield, about 100 yards north of Woodcock Hill Cemetery.

Antony's comparison includes an extension to the property.

George Williams (Tony Wright) listens to Helen as she explains that the police have visited the farm and all is fine.

Taking the opportunity, Sladden steals the Doctor's car and drives from the farm. Looking north on Harefield Road to the south of Rickmansworth with the driveway to Woodcock Hill Cemetery on the left identified simultaneously by Antony Blair and Steve Randall.

The location now taken by Antony.

At the railway station, a Constable questions a waiting Passenger. Taplow station on Approach Road off Station Road in Taplow, Buckinghamshire. The Down Main Line platform buildings, seen to the left, no longer stand.

Another Policeman appears and the two Officers patrol the station. Located on the Great Western Main Line between Slough and Maidenhead, Taplow station opened in September 1872.

The Constable questions Sladden when he sees him get out of Dr. Balfour's car. The southern side of Taplow station where the approach leads from Bath Road and Station Road.

Sladden makes a break for freedom, running over the station footbridge. Dating from 1884, the footbridge at Taplow station was removed in 2018.

As Mr. and Mrs. Williams arrive arrive home with Helen and find Blake armed with a shotgun, the squad car is sent back to Piper's Farm. Steve Randall and Antony Blair both recognised the Rose & Crown public house at the junction of Harefield Road and Woodcock Hill between Rickmansworth and Harefield.
