The house Mordelaine passes to Nick Helmar after Christopher Hatton loses the family's country estate during an all night gambling session. Whereas this is a matte of Blickling Hall in Norfolk, the real hall can be seen in 'The Wicked Lady' and 'A Cock and Bull Story'.

After Jassy is sent to work in service at Mordelaine, her father Tom Woodroofe (John Laurie) hears screams from the smithy where blacksmith Bob Wicks is beating his daughter Lindy. Looking across the duck pond on Stocks Road in Aldbury, Hertfordshire. The village appears in many productions including 'A Warm December', ‘The Dirty Dozen’, 'You Can't Escape', ‘The Shillingbury Blowers’, ‘Inquest’, 'Web of Suspicion' and ‘Stop Press Girl’.

The following Wednesday, Dilys rides out from Mordelaine for a tryst with Barney. This appears to be a view from the Chiltern Hills to the east of Aldbury with the tower of St. John the Baptist church visible in the right distance.

Barney arrives at Sir William Fennell's house to find that Miss Helmar has agreed to marry his son Stephen. Moor Park Golf Club at Rickmansworth, Hertfordshire, a location that can also be seen in 'A Business Affair', Brothers in Law', 'The Hellfire Club', 'Metro-Land' and 'The Vampire Lovers'.
