Norman Hackett (Norman Wisdom) makes his way to the jewellery shop where he works. New Bond Street, London W1.

On the train to home, a man drops a pound note and Norman attempts to give it back but gets trapped in the train's doors.

After placing a £1 accumulator bet with a bookmaker, Norman arrives at the races.

After causing havoc in the hospital, Norman escapes and takes a postman's bicycle to return to the races.
