If you have any information regarding this production, the locations or, even better, some comparison shots please contact us. Images submitted must be in Landscape orientation, as would be seen on the cinema screen, not Portrait.
We are aware that there are films on the site that were added when the criteria for the inclusion of locations was very different from today and, as a result, there may be scenes missing from some productions. Please do not forward additional screen captures to us but bring the detail to our attention, for we do, and are, 're-addressing' these older entries as time allows.

Only second unit or stock shots are seen in this production and this is a view of the mine where most of the menfolk living in the film's Hankey Park work. J. Copeland advises that Hanky, or Hankey, Park is not fictional and explains that it was an area of Pendleton in Salford with two up two down terraced streets that was cleared in the early 60s to be redeveloped as the high rise Salford Precinct. Walter Greenwood, the author of the novel on which the film is based, lived nearby in Langworthy, Salford.

After winning a bet, Harry Hardcastle takes his girl on a holiday to Blackpool. This is Blackpool Central station on Central Drive which can also be seen in ‘Sing As We Go’, 'Here Comes the Sun', 'No Lady' and 1952s ‘Hindle Wakes’ while other parts the Lancashire seaside resort also features in ‘Forbidden’, 'Cotton Queen', 'They Met in the Dark', 'A Taste of Honey', 'The Cuckoo Patrol' and ‘Dick Barton Strikes Back’.
