After being told by the WAAF Doctor and her own MD that she has a life-threatening heart condition, Lissa Campbell leaves her stage name behind and gives up hope of serving her country before retiring to Cornwall.

Lissa Campbell (Margaret Lockwood) drives her invalid carriage to a nearby cliff top. This is Land's End in Cornwall spotted by Andrew Smythe.

Making her way the the edge of the cliff, Lissa finds Kit Firth calling out for help. Andrew Smythe identifies this as Dr. Johnson's Head at Land's End.

The young engineer indicates the old mine that he entered in order to search for a rare mineral. Levant Mine at Trewellard in Cornwall, a location that also appears in 'Haunters of the Deep' and 'The Mine and the Minotaur'.

At the resort, while Lissa plays the piano that mine investigator Tom Tanner has obtained for her, Kit Firth (Stewart Granger) crosses to speak with a female Guest.

Kit takes Lissa to Porthmerryn Open Air Theatre where he speaks with Judy Martin (Patricia Roc) after introducing the two women.

Secretly in love with Kit, Judy watches him take Lissa swimming in the sea below the theatre. The Minack Theatre at Porthcurno opened in the early 1930s.

Travelling through the country after mackerel for lunch, Kit points out the Merry Maidens and tells their story. The Merry Maidens stone circle in West Penwith, Cornwall.

The pair pass Barnoon Cemetery before the donkey pulling the small carriage stops and lies down in the road. The cemetery stands on Clodgy View in St. Ives, Cornwall.

Spending what time she has left together, Kit and Lissa come ashore after fishing. The harbour at Penberth Cove.

Lionel and Cynthia visited the remote Penberth Cove for us and add that the unusual structure is a whim for hauling fishing boats out of the sea and on to the shore. (RL)

Approaching his cottage, Kit is told by a stuttering Fisherman that Mr. Tanner wants him at the mine. Penberth Cove in Cornwall.

Remaining on the same spot, Lionel and Cynthia looked east and noted that the house has had quite a makeover. (RL)

At the theatre, Judy watches Sally (Joan Rees) rehearsing as Ariel opposite Prospero (Vincent Holman). The Minack Theatre at Porthcurno, Cornwall.

Soon after Porthmerryn Mine is reopened to extract molybdenum, Villagers wait at the workings when the alarm is raised following a roof collapse. Levant Mine near St. Just was originally a copper mine and closed in 1930.

Kit descends into the mine to rescue the Miners but becomes trapped by a further fall of rock.

At the station, Kit says goodbye to Lissa and Judy after agreeing to have surgery to remove shrapnel that will eventually cause him to go blind. After much deliberation, Jonathan Horswell has come to the conclusion that the station is St. Ives. "What is confusing is that the picture is reversed with the background buildings not matching up which would also explain why the train is leaving the wrong way!

When Judy walks away upset after learning that Kit is having his operation early, Lissa performs as Felicity Crichton in front of The Tempest's opening night audience.

81 years later they're preparing for Twelfth Night. (SR)

As war continues, Felicity travels the world, entertaining the troops. Valletta in Malta identified by Steve Randall who explains that this view dates from before the Basilica of Our Lady of Mount Carmel was rebuilt between 1958 to 1981 after the church was seriously damaged during the Second World War.

Months later, as she finishes a performance at the Royal Albert Hall, Felicity spots Kit in the wings wearing his RAF uniform. The Royal Albert Hall on Kensington Gore in SW7.
