The convicts are driven all the way to HM Prison Dartmoor in Princetown near Yelverton, Devon. The prison also appears in 'Escape!' from 1930 and 'Escape' from 1948 as well as 'They Made Me a Fugitive'.
The camera crew must have been the other side of those trees. (RL)
