Can you help:

If you have any information regarding this production, the locations or, even better, some comparison shots please contact us. Images submitted must be in Landscape orientation, as would be seen on the cinema screen, not Portrait.

We are aware that there are films on the site that were added when the criteria for the inclusion of locations was very different from today and, as a result, there may be scenes missing from some productions. Please do not forward additional screen captures to us but bring the detail to our attention, for we do, and are, 're-addressing' these older entries as time allows.

A ministry building perhaps, or law courts, Carey Street maybe?

Hammersmith Bridge.

Steps still there

The steps are still there. SJ

Digby Mansions, Lower Marsh.

And now we go inside.

A car-free moment to see the entrance at a decent angle. SJ

Back of Whitehall, towards Green Park.

Horse Guards Road at the west end of King Charles Street. SJ

Birdcage Walk in the distance.

Bang on. SJ

University College, off Gower Street with entrance opposite the Cruciform Building, London: scene of many of the “Doctor” films.

Yes, look at the white "bubble".

University College.

Close by, but No Entry!

Exit from the Path. Lab. where Sir Bernard Spilsbury worked, one of the formative influences on the mind of the young sociopath, who later became a fully fledged psychopath, Cinema of Darkness. Paul Hawkins tells us that shortly after this scene, the truck, with the unknown man passed through Aldenham, Village of the Damned.

Spain? I bet Simon knows. ...Taking up the challenge, the facts say Huelva: author Ben MacIntyre gave a great talk to my school about Operation Mincemeat. SJ

  • 'Now' required

Spain? ... Local Terry Walsh doesn't recognise Huelva here (captures 9-14) so we shall have to cast our net wider.

Spain?

Or Portugal?

Same town... And we now have Huelva after ten years of doubt: Steve Randall has identified the Casa Del Millon, at 32 Calle Puerto, Huelva.

And soon after his identification, Steve popped over to Huelva to take this comparison. (SJ)

........again... Terry and I both reckon this is the real Our Lady of Solitude Cemetery, Huelva (SJ)

Graveyard, abandoned......a set? It represents the Cemetery of Solitude and could well be the real thing on HU1301 just north of Huelva. (SJ)

Looks like the real thing. Sent in, along with Google shots actually marking William Martin's grave, by Richard Dodds with thanks. (SJ)

Liverpool Street Station, as was, maybe? ... Stephen Boyd is exiting Paddington Station up the slope which leads to Praed Street. It would be logical as the gangway from which he disembarks has 'Fishguard' on it. I think John Tuthill is right (SJ)

Yes he is and here's the now. SJ

Was it Liverpool Street?... Now known as not: click the date.

As above, it's Paddington leading to Praed Street. SJ

Confirmed as Paddington.

And this is the reverse view of above, with new windows and doors. SJ

Paddington again.

Still at Paddington (which I missed first time, so I returned). SJ

Peter identifies this as what was Barnby Street in NW1, looking south-east with Ampthill Square to the left.

And here's Peter's modern view of the same redeveloped location.

Dublin, Belfast?

No, it's Ampthill Square in NW1 and Peter provides this image of the rebuilt area.

Ampthill Square, London NW1 (since pulled down in approx 1967) flats there now. After a few years up, this is new information from Eileen Taylor with our thanks.

And a little further on in time Peter provides the evidence, Barnby Street, London NW1 looking north with Hampstead Road to the left. (RL)

"7a was south side of Ampthill Square NW1, 7b is west side looking north 7c is west side looking north and this one 7d is west side looking north: the house used was my friend's house by name of Hedges." Info from AW Gaze with thanks.

Peter confirms the location with this shot taken from Barnby Street.

Gieves, Gieves and Hawks in my day I believe, Jermyn Street or was it Saville Row?

Old Bond Street actually and the same spot captured by Peter 60 years on. (RL)

Sign says West End Box Office Alfred Hays

Old Bond Street. The decorative clock outside Tiffany & Co and the reflections of the buildings opposite help to confirm. From Richard Lovejoy.

More Old Bond Street.

Peter takes a similar view of the same spot in Old Bond Street. (RL)

Piccadilly, London, the old Naval & Military Club, often called the In and Out club.

Spotted, but from the outside. Gates locked. And, a correction from Maurice Ricketts, the title is the Naval and Military Club. Thanks Maurice.

The old Naval and Military Club.

Yes, it is. Called the "In and Out" because of the labels on the gate posts. Sometime home of Lord Palmerstone. Maurice Ricketts.

Front portico

The interior shots of the lobby, used in the film, were actually shot in the real lobby. Maurice Ricketts.

Corner of Hyde Park and Knightsbridge.

Sorted!

Looks like some refurbishing going on, Knightsbridge. SJ

Digby Mansions, Lower Mall.

The same doorway.

Hammy Bridge.

Now

The mansion flats again

Proof

Again

They really loved this place.

The road up towards Hammersmith. Miss Deneuve walked along on the other side of the wall to the right in Repulsion.

Same place

And the cops speed off south, looking for an address in Kings Cross, or Paddington or Islington, but certainly not south of the Thames.

Just out of frame, on the right is the Riverside Studio.
