Storyline:
When his beloved grandfather leaves Jake clues to a mystery that spans different worlds and times, he finds a magical place known as Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children. But the mystery and danger deepen as he gets to know the residents and learns about their special powers…and their powerful enemies. Ultimately, Jake discovers that only his own special “peculiarity” can save his new friends.

Jake and his father Frank (Chris O'Dowd) travel to Carinholm. The village of Cairnholm is actually East Portholland, Cornwall, England, UK. The graveyard glimpsed on the left was built for the film on top of the village car park. The left wall was also put there just for filming.

They walk up to the local pub. The pub and three small shops each side were all built for filming in Portholland, Cornwall.

Lionel and Cynthia Sear ventured to a rather remote location that had seen prop properties erected for the film. With the help of a very accommodating lady from 'Portholland Escapes', to whom thanks from us all, they were able to provide this shot, based on the building to the right, of where the 'property' was. Two of the locals decide to take on the task. They walk along the road that takes them away from the beach in East Portholland in Cornwall.

This is the road leading out of Portholland looking back south to the sea appears to have provided Lionel and Cynthia with a less troublesome vista. (RL)

A muddy Jake finds the Children's home. Miss Peregrine's Home is located at Bredabaan 506, Brasschaat, Antwerp, Flanders in Belgium. The damage in this shot is a special effect. It is currently privately owned and not open to visitors.

After a surprise in the house, Jake gets talking to the 'residents'. This quarry is located next to the Cheesewring, a natural rock formation of eroded granite slabs, near the village of Minions, Cornwall.
