The film opens with a view of a large London railway terminus. Simon Reader advises that this is looking down onto platform 1 from the footbridge at Paddington station. The location was also seen in 'The White Bus', ‘The Long Good Friday’, ‘A Run for Your Money’, 'Dr. Terror's House of Horrors', 'Das Geheimnis der gelben Narzissen', 'Fool's Gold: The Story of the Brink's-Mat Robbery' and 'The Last Journey' amongst many more.

Along with many more productions, 'Stormy Crossing', 'Dark Places', 'Poet's Pub', 'The Man in the Moon', 'Ghost of a Chance', 'Vice Versa', 'Deadlock’ and ‘Too Many Crooks’ also used Denham as a location.

Having obtained a position as housemaid to Luther Ackenthorpe, the amateur sleuth sets out for fictional Ackenthorpe Hall. This bridge is on Amerden Lane, to the east of where the Great Western Main Line crosses the A4 north of Taplow Lake.

Graham Smith happened to be driving between Maidenhead and Taplow and diverted to take this view.

Walking along the muddy driveway, Miss Marple reaches the house. IMDb identifies this location as Radnor Hall on Allum Lane to the west of Elstree in Hertfordshire.

When the ball lands, Miss Marple continues her search for clues. Paul Atkinson believes that this on land west or south-west of White Place on Amerden Lane, Taplow, maybe around Amerden Ponds. The background bridge would have been demolished when the Jubilee River was created to the west of Taplow.
