An unassuming planning engineer finds himself on a trans-Atlantic liner on business and becomes the life of the party during the hour that the ship’s clocks stop as the voyage moves eastward.

From her shop across the road, Mrs. Crowley shouts up to David Webb that his employers are on the telephone wanting to speak with him. The overhead wires, and a bus that has just passed, indicate that this building was on one of London's Trolleybus routes.

David arrives in Southampton to catch the Queen Elizabeth to New York. The Ocean Terminal alongside Ocean Dock in Southampton. The art deco building opened in 1950 and was also seen in 'Carry On Cruising' and 'John and Julie' before being demolished in 1983.

David and Georgia head into New York City by yellow cab. The South Street Viaduct of Franklin D. Roosevelt East River Drive with Brooklyn Bridge spanning the East River ahead. The roadway has since been widened resulting in the demolition of the riverside buildings.
