If you have any information regarding this production, the locations or, even better, some comparison shots please contact us. Images submitted must be in Landscape orientation, as would be seen on the cinema screen, not Portrait.

We are aware that there are films on the site that were added when the criteria for the inclusion of locations was very different from today and, as a result, there may be scenes missing from some productions. Please do not forward additional screen captures to us but bring the detail to our attention, for we do, and are, 're-addressing' these older entries as time allows.

Dr. Morley and his colleagues track a small glowing object as it flies across London before the titles roll. The River Thames with the Houses of Parliament to the centre.

From street level near Lambeth Bridge, Peter gets the spot.

The Army are called in to search for the curious object. Gordon Thomson advises that this is Chobham Common in Surrey where scenes for 'Dad's Army (1971)', 'Castle in the Air', 'A Weekend with Lulu', 'Only When I Larf', 'Carry On Cleo' and 'Carry On Cowboy' were also shot.

When the object is found the Army take it to Falsey Park, the Government Research Establishment where Dr. Morley is based. Shepperton Studios, the rear car park and 'I' stage located by Gordon Thompson.

More soldiers drive through the gates to guard the facility. Gordon identifies Shepperton Studios with the main stage block in the background.

The Major (John Carson) orders the troops to positions. In front of the sound department at Shepperton Studios recognised by Gordon Thompson.

Sergeant Hawkins (Jack Watson) watches as Privates Higgins (Tony Wager) and Jones (David Gregory) unload the object. Gordon Thompson points out stages 'E', 'F' and 'G' at Shepperton Studios in the background. A similar shot appears in 'Left, Right and Centre'.

Newspapers carry news of the escape of an alien from Falsey Park. Trafalgar Square in London WC2 with St. Martin-in-the-Fields church in the right background.

Peter grabbed this shot on a sunny January day.

Dr. Jack Costain tells Detective Superintendent Hartley that he has linked the disappearance of young women to the alien. The gateway to the old New Scotland Yard on Derby Gate, London SW1 also seen in 'Portrait of Alison', 'Meet Mr Callaghan' and 'The Frightened Man'.

Scaffolding and sheeting marring the view. SJ

Answering an advertisement in "Bikini Girl" magazine, Joyce Malone (Barbara French) makes her way to see a mysterious man named Medra. The Prince of Wales Theatre stands in the right background in this night time view along Rupert Street W1.

Peter also took a night shot.

  • 'Now' required

Investigating the case of the missing girls, Detective Superintendent Hartley (Alfred Burke) calls on Thorburn who runs a seedy bookshop in Soho. Part of a studio set on the back lot at Shepperton.

  • 'Now' required

Hoping to intercept Medra, Detective Superintendent Hartley waits outside Joyce Malone's flat.

  • 'Now' required

Hartley follows Medra after he collects Joyce.

Medra is followed as he speeds ahead in the Jaguar stolen from Falsey Park. Located on the corner of Clarence Street and Bridge Street in Staines, Surrey. Nick Boorman tells us that in 1965 this was the Library but is currently the offices of the Showman’s Guild. Part of the building can be glimpsed in 'Mrs Brown You've Got a Lovely Daughter'.

Nick captured the same location.

Hartley follows the alien out of the City, towards Guildford . . . . . and the conclusion of the film. Nick Boorman found the railway bridge carrying the railway to Windsor over High Street in Staines. Below the white sign to the left used to be a stall that sold bacon rolls and tea which was a favourite eating place for local trades people.

The bridge now, taken by Nick.
