No Lady

As Mr. Pog struggles to carry a huge chest down the stairs of the house he shares with his Wife and five Stepchildren, a Piano Tuner, the first of several callers, walks up to the front door.

Mrs. Pog (Lola Hunt) looks on as Mr. Pog (Lupino Lane) and a variety of Tradesmen carry the chest from the house their waiting taxi.

At the station, the Taxi Driver demands his fare from Mr. Pog as Mrs. Pog supervises the Children.

Mr. Pog jumps through an open drop-light as the train of smart LMS coaches departs for Blackpool.

A motley collection of carriages arrives in the Lancashire resort. Blackpool Central station on Central Drive with the Tower in the background. Other views of the terminus can be seen in 'Sing As We Go', 'Love on the Dole' and 1952's 'Hindle Wakes'.

Blackpool features in a good number of productions including 'Holidays with Pay', 'They Met in the Dark', 'The Cuckoo Patrol', 'Dual Alibi', 'The Parole Officer', 'Dick Barton Strikes Back' and 'A Taste of Honey'.

The family head for Blackpool's North Pier, which can also be seen in 'A Monster Calls' and 'Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children'.

Ordered to pay for admission to the pier by his Wife, Mr. Pog digs deep in his pockets as the Children line up at the turnstile.

When the Youngsters crawl under the turnstiles to get onto the pier, the Cashier demands payment before a slapstick routine ensues.

Mrs. Pog and her Offspring are alarmed when they see Pat, Junior flung into the sea after his trousers are caught on an Angler's fishing hook.

A crowd gathers as Mrs. Pog and the Children run towards the Angler who has Pat dangling on his line. The pier action switches between Blackpool's Central and North Piers.

The soaking wet Child is pulled back onto the pier. This is the North Pier as indicated by the position of the Tower in the left distance.

As his Mother recovers from the ordeal, Pat Junior (Roy Carey) walks away in silence. Central Pier with North Pier in the right distance.

Leaving her husband behind, Mrs. Pog takes the Kids on a motor boat trip.

Making the most of his time alone, Mr. Pog prepares to spar with a Punch-a-Bag machine.

Mistaking him for international spy Bugs Blanco, Sonia (Renee Clama) approaches Mr. Pog and hands over an envelope. Looking north from Central Pier.

Sonia returns to the promenade where she tells fellow Ptomanian Agent (Cyril McLaglen) that she has handed the plans to help sabotage the international glider competition to Blanco. The Promenade with North Pier in the background.

The Agent makes his way onto the pier and tells General Keeta that Sonia has given the plans to the wrong person. Blackpool Central Pier with the Tower in the distance.

After opening the envelope and discovering a blueprint inside, Mr. Pog examines the complex drawing before walking through a gap in the pier railings and falling into the sea.

Rescued from the ocean by a Boatman, Mr. Pog is taken ashore where he divests himself of his wet clothes behind the beached sailing dinghy. Neil Webster suggests Norbreck Beach, to the north of Blackpool in Lancashire.

The real Bugs Blanco escapes from a nearby prison. Neil Webster identifies this as Norbreck Beach to the north of Blackpool with the "prison" being one of the turrets of the Norbreck Hydro, now styled as the Norbreck Castle Hotel, rising above the top of the cliff.

As Mr. Pog wakes after sleeping behind the boat, a team of Women march onto the beach. Norbreck Beach located by Neil Webster with the masts for the Blackpool Corporation trams visible on Queen's Promenade.

After taking Mr. Pog's clothes in exchange for his prison attire, Bugs Blanco tells Wardens that he's seen the convict on another part of the shore. Neil Webster believes this to be Norbreck Beach below the Norbreck Hydro.

Having no choice but to put on the prison uniform, Mr. Pog is captured and taken to gaol. A studio set, included to keep the story moving along.

Inadvertently aided by Mrs. Pog, Mr. Pog flees from captivity followed by the Wardens and his Family. The entrance to the South Shore Open Air Bathing Pool on the Promenade in Blackpool.

Dressed in Greta Gherkinski's clothes that he found hanging in the changing room, Mr. Pog fools the Policemen and Warders who are on the lookout for their prisoner. The entrance to Central Pier.

Wearing the spy's clothing, Mr. Pog attracts a number of Suitors during a musical number on the pier. Originally opened in 1868, this is Blackpool's Central Pier.

Running from the pier, Mr. Pog makes his way to the Hotel Metropole after finding a letter in from General Keeta in Greta's handbag. Hotel Metropole on Promenade in Blackpool.

Employing a little camera trickery, Mr. Pog escapes from the Ptomanian delegation after Sonia and the real Greta arrive. To the bottom left, the top of Blackpool Tower can be made out.

Shots are fired when two Ptomanian Agents appear at the General's window. The south-western tower of the Hotel Metropole on Promenade in Blackpool.

The two Agents chase Mr. Pog who escapes by boarding a Dreadnought tram. Queens Drive on the seafront at Blackpool with one of the 20 Dreadnought cars unique to the corporation.

Jumping from the Dreadnought, Mr. Pog recovers after bumping into the Ptomanians who get up to continue their pursuit. Queens Drive in Blackpool.

The chase continues along the seafront as Mr. Pog and his Pursuers weave between moving cars.

Mr. Pog hides in the congregation of a Minister peddling misery. The beach beneath South Pier.

When the Agents catch up, Mr. Pog escapes by donkey.

The Agents mount up and follow. Again, the beach beneath South Pier from where the ensuing chase is accompanied by the 'March of the Swiss Soldiers' from Rossini's William Tell Overture . . . two years before the appearance of 'The Lone Ranger' for which the music is remembered.

Dismounting, Mr. Pog runs into the Pleasure Beach Amusement Park followed by the Ptomanian Agents.

Various rides are seen as the chase continues through the amusement park which had moved to its present site eight years earlier.

The Agents join Mr. Pog on a long forgotten ride. In the right background stands the House of Nonsense.

Giddy after his spinning journey, Mr. Pog gets up after jumping over the ride's fence.

Knocking over the Attendant, Mr. Pog clambers up a set of steps alongside a chair-lift. This attraction stands next to the House of Nonsense.

Reaching the top platform, Mr. Pog slides down the chute, knocking over one of the Agents waiting for him.

Paying his fare, Mr. Pog jumps into an aeroplane. The Pleasure Beach's Rainbow Wheel stands in the right background.

Dandling from the aeroplane when the Agents begin shooting at him, Mr. Pog drops into a go-kart.

Mr. Pog drives the tiny vehicle from the pleasure park and onto the promenade. Looking north on the Promenade with the Tower beyond the Palatine Hotel to the top left.

The terraced houses stand on Promenade between Crystal Road and Alexandra Road.

A collision is narrowly avoided before a Constable on point duty is knocked down. Promenade with the Victoria Hotel at the corner of Brunswick Street.

Mr. Pog takes to the air at the International Gliding Contest. Looking down onto the Promenade at the junction with Burlington Road West to the south of the Pleasure Beach.

After the glider crashes on the sands, the Mayor and Spectators watch as Mr. Pog staggers away from the wreckage. The sands at Blackpool in Lancashire with Louis Tussaud's waxworks on the Promenade and Central Pier to the extreme right.
