If you have any information regarding this production, the locations or, even better, some comparison shots please contact us. Images submitted must be in Landscape orientation, as would be seen on the cinema screen, not Portrait.
We are aware that there are films on the site that were added when the criteria for the inclusion of locations was very different from today and, as a result, there may be scenes missing from some productions. Please do not forward additional screen captures to us but bring the detail to our attention, for we do, and are, 're-addressing' these older entries as time allows.
- Capture 1
- 'Now' required
There aren't many locations in this film, and what there are were mainly shot at night. However, we begin with a daytime capture of a train on a four track main line with a house in the left distance. According to Jonathan Horswell's website www.railwaymoviedatabase.com this an LMS 4P 'Compound' 4-4-0 No.1038 one of the original 45 Midland Railway Class 1000’s working a Midland main line express. - Capture 3
- 06 Aug 2015
Jim Ackland and Jenny Carden (Joan Greenwood) begin to see each other.
West Common, Gerrards Cross, Buckinghamshire. Not a perfect match, but I took this in December 2013 whilst I was there for 'One Good Turn'. SD
- Capture 4
- 15 Apr 2017
Jim makes his way to meet Jenny after becoming a suspect for the murder of Molly Newman. This is Amersham Hill in High Wycombe and the bridge crosses the railway to the west of the station. Location discovered by James Cochrane.
And James provides the proof.
- Capture 5
- 'Now' required
Avoiding the police, Jim and Jenny make their way to Brockhurst Common station.
- Capture 6
- 16 Jul 2017
A stock shot of Paddington station where Jim searches through the left luggage office. London W2.
This replaces my previous shot as I think I had the wrong direction, so here is an improvement but not necessarily definitive. SJ
- Capture 7
- 26 Sep 2022
Jim runs from the station, followed by the police. Paddington station cab road running alongside Eastbourne Terrace. Also seen in 'Brandy for the Parson' and 'Miranda'.

Possibly a little further back. SJ
- Capture 8
- 15 Apr 2017
Through the steam from a passing train, Jenny makes her way towards Jim. This is a reverse point of view from an earlier capture and shows the junction of Amersham Hill and Priory Road in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire. Identified by James Cochrane.
Another daylight shot of the bridge from James.
