After years of research Martin Green has finally established the exact location in Hamburg, Mönckebergstraße at its junction with Alstertor and Ida-Ehre-Platz. The road layout has changed drastically, this used to be 2 lanes both ways with the tram running up the centre. Now it's a single lane one way street mostly now pedestrianised. (RL)

Despite redevelopment, Benny Bukhave identifies this as the area of St. Pauli Fismarkt and Breite Straße where some monumental buildings remain standing noting in particular that the taller brown coloured warehouse seen to the top right centre stands on Große Elbstraße.

Miller learns that Tauber and Marx were survivors of the holocaust. Elbchaussee, just before the Teufelsbrucker Platz in Hamburg claims Simon Macleod.

Mark O'Neill took a nice boat trip to this location however, there was nothing to do once there.

Miller and his girlfriend Sigi (Mary Tamm) head for the U-Bahn after Christmas shopping. Stefan Pöschel confirms that this is Karlsplatz (Stachus) in Munich.

At present all the station brickwork and shops have been covered up with metal shutters and Janusz Jankowski's shot shows that ongoing works have extended outwards with gigantic steel pillars.

In Janusz Jankowski's comparison, it can be seen that all the old booths, doors and windows no longer exist. However there are several background pillars holding up the roof which can still be seen.

As no doors now exist at the entrance to the station, Janusz Jankowski is sure that this is the view looking into the station with the lockers level seen in capture 43 situated directly above on the first floor.

Miller arrives at Bayreuth railway station. But Manuel Gurtner tells us that this is definitely not Bayreuth Hauptbahnhof because all four railway lines to Bayreuth are still not electrified. Manuel believes that the location must be somewhere on the mainline between Munich and Rosenheim as the train in the background is of the type that work over the Brenner Pass to Italy. Austrian locomotives such as the ÖBB class 1010 shown came to Munich regularly.

After finding an ODESSA dossier, Miller returns and heads for the luggage lockers at Munich Hauptbahnhof, Bayerstraße, Munich.

Janusz Jankowski tells us that the lockers are now situated on the bottom floor below where the original scene was taken. There is still access to the upper floor which leads to some offices but the view overlooking the platforms is boarded up. This is the closest public view that can be taken from where the scene was shot.
