Lots Road in London SW10 identified by Kieran McAleer who conducts Quadrophenia London Locations Tours. Kieran adds that Jimmy Cooper (Phil Daniels) is about to turn left and pass Lots Road Power Station.

Scooters arrive at the party at Clarendon Gardens, Brent. House on left, and distinctive double-fronted houses, further down street, confirm this location. Well spotted by Kieran McAleer.

Underneath the old Ha'penny Steps, Harrow Rd, claims Aidan McManus. Reasonable, I suppose, but in the dark, and briefly, it could be a dozen tow-paths anywhere in London. Aidan further adds…the bridge isnt there any more and looks completely different now, even the towpaths been changed, the new bridge is in a different place and those lights you see in the background are in the Harrow Rd. and have been obliterated by a new building. I have cycled up and down that stretch of the canal for a long time and recognised it instantly having had a similar liason there myself. Aidan McManus.

In a record shop, a GPO Messenger (Hugh Boyson) is directed to a sound booth by the Assistant (Carol Harrison) where he finds Jimmy in the next booth looking through the photographs that he is supposed to be delivering. Jeremy Hine identifies Virgin Records at 130 Notting Hill Gate W11, for which he was lucky enough to get confirmation from a member of the film crew.

Jeremy supplies this comparison as proof, taken from inside what is currently a branch of Holland & Barrett.

Bramley Arms, now in Freston Road, west London, and used to be in Latimer Road at the time of making the film. 'Steptoe and Son', 'The Blue Lamp', 'Betrayal', 'The Lavender Hill Mob' and 'The Squeeze' also feature the building.

Tom found that the stairs are still there with the same hand rails but that the wall has been opened up.

Tom C identifies this as the same place as qu002b, Shelton Street, Covent Garden. The railings have long gone but the stairs, which Tom presumes were where the small door is in qu002bn, were actually to a basement recording studio in a community centre. He knows......because he and his mates played there in the '80's and remembers "a lot of milling around waiting for band members". The club closed in 1989. Jimmy (Phil Daniels) arrives outside Ferdy's house. Jeremy Hine discovered number 5 Acklam Road which survived the construction of Westway but later succumbed to demolition, years after the rest of the street had disappeared.

Jeremy returned to the approximate site of the house.

With the help of www.movie-locations.com Clive Brett has sent a Google Image of the Wellington Service Station on North Hill, London N6 which stands, coincidentally, on the site of the Wellington Pub where fake pill are bought in the film. (RL)

An additional still and information supplied by Simon Wells. Possibly the most elusive location. This is the Transport Research Laboratory Test Track at Crowthorne, Berkshire which is also seen in 'George and Mildred', 'The Omen' and in episodes of television's 'The Sweeney'. Phil Chappell updated us in July 2021 that part of the scaled back is now a public park called ‘Buckler's Forest’. The roads and trees remain but are now used by dog walkers and joggers. However, there's a helpful noticeboard explaining the history of the site which includes reference to the scene from ‘Quadrophenia’ that was filmed there.

A lifelong fan of the film, Richard Winchester visited the location known as 'Hill Start Hill' which is sign-posted throughout Buckler's Forest.

Found by John Naulls, Antony Blair confirms that this is near Denham, looking north on Southlands Road with the corner of Hollybush Lane just out of shot to the left and Quarry Cottages in the centre background. The location also features in '11 Harrowhouse'.
