In the middle of a cricket match, Denys finds batsman Dallas Chaytor proposing to his sister Janet Royd beneath a tree.

As misheard news of the upcoming wedding spreads, Janet’s Aunt Florence runs over to Lady Ethel Yeldham as she arrives home. With such a grainy print, it's difficult to determine if this is a set at Shepperton or an actual location. However, Richard Lovejoy found this excerpt from Kinematography Weekly dated Thursday 10 October 1940 . . . "When considering the requirements of his cameraman in conjunction with his screen story, it was decided to use for the first time in British Studios, Kodak's new stock Super Doubler X. . . . When the first rushes were screened it was found that the huge composite country house setting for the production had been recorded with startling fidelity to the original, not usually associated with the photographing of sets, however cleverly constructed. . . . The garden was a fine example of set construction, for the real turf merged completely with the perspective background, the centre object of which was a creeper-clad cottage."

The train from Paddington carries Janet Royd to the story's Throppleton in Wiltshire. Jonathan Horswell in his www.railwaymoviedatabase.com states that this 'stock shot' is of an LMS express rounding a curve in the Lune Gorge, Cumbria, Lancashire. This clip has also appeared in 'A Honeymoon Adventure' (1931), 'No Limit' (1935) 'Next of Kin' (1942), 'The Echo Murders' (1945), and 'The Hangman Waits' (1947), 'The Black Sheep of Whitehall" (1942). Waiting on the platform, Dallas watches the train draw in. A reversed view of Banavie station in Argyllshire advises Jonathan Horswell who recognised the background hills.

Guests and Well-wishers converge on the church where Janet and Dallas are to be married. Again, this has the appearance of a set and the Kinematography Weekly seems to confirm this.
