The location was used in the 'Doctor' film series and is also seen in 'Wicked as They Come', 'K', 'The Lost Language of Cranes', ‘The Idol’’, ‘Inception’ and ‘Eyes Wide Shut’, 1959’s ‘The 39 Steps’, ‘The Man Who Never Was' and 'Thunderbirds’.

After a group of students decide to share accommodation, Malcolm Stewart arrives at the lodgings by taxi. Royal Crescent looking towards Holland Park Avenue, London W11. The location was seen in 'Enchantment' and 'The Blue Lamp'.

The tour continues. This shot is recycled from the 1959 version of 'The 39 Steps' and the location is identified by Gregor Baddley as Penmanshiel near Grantshouse on the East Coast Main Line between Berwick and Edinburgh in Berwickshire. Gregor adds that "The train is heading North and will shortly enter Penmanshiel tunnel. The railway now follows a new alignment following a fatal tunnel collapse in 1979."

Andy McArthur provides this view taken from where the bridge which carried the A1 over the railway before realignment explaining that "An investigation found that fracturing of the rock overlying the tunnel was the cause of the tragic collapse and making repairs was deemed too difficult and dangerous. The main line was moved to a new open cut to the west and the tunnel was sealed at both ends. The operation to reopen the East Coast Main Line, which included realignment of the A1 trunk road, took five months of round the clock work. A memorial, located at Grid NT79 796 760, commemorates two workers who died in the tunnel collapse whose remains were never recovered."

Mervyn Hughes (Leslie Phillips) is about to cross the street when he hears an odd tune being played. Facing west on Westbourne Grove in W2 with the Westbank Gallery at the junction of Chepstow Place, Chepstow Road and Pembridge Villas in the left middle distance.

Mervyn decides to follow inside where he meets music publishers Sid and Harry, selling them a tune for £50 which almost loses him his Higginbotham Scholar status. Outside the Princess Royal on Hereford Road W2, located by Peter.

After Malcolm is given a position in Sir Benjamin Boyd's (James Robertson Justice) orchestra, Jill follows and asks if he needs a harp.
