Filmed entirely on set at Paramount Studios on Melrose Avenue in Hollywood, Los Angeles, California this is the yard at the rear of L. B. "Jeff" Jefferies' Greenwich Village apartment with a tantalizing glimpse of the street along the alley.

Although the address given during the film is 125 West Ninth Street in New York's Greenwich Village, the set was based on an actual courtyard located at 125 Christopher Street in the borough of Manhattan.
