  • 'Now' required

The movie opens with this shot of New York City, New York, USA. Manuel Gurtner tells us that we're looking east across the Hudson River around the middle of the 1930s, towards Lower Manhattan with a Hoboken Ferry in the foreground. The following skyscrapers can be recognized (from left to right). the Woolworth Building from 1913, located at 233 Broadway; the Transportation Building from 1928, located at 225 Broadway; the Cities Service Building from 1932, located at 70 Pine Street; the Bank of Manhattan Company Building from 1930, located at 40 Wall Street and the Equitable Trust Building from 1928, located at 15 Broad Street.

A 1950s establishing shot of London. Lambeth Bridge in the foreground and the Houses of Parliament and Westminster Bridge in the background. A view replicated in different ways for many productions including 'European Vacation', 'Seventy Deadly Pills', 'How to Get Ahead in Advertising', 'The Cracksman', 'The Tunnel', 'George and Mildred', 'A Dandy in Aspic', 'The Naked Truth', 'Midnight Lace' and 'The Vault of Horror'.

The concourse of Waterloo railway station in London SE1.

There is a similar shot in "One Exciting Night." Capturing some nice elevation, John Harwood sent in this one. (SJ)

Unaware of each others connection, Jeff Longstreet (John Carroll) and Laura Weeks (Virginia Bruce) arrive at "Winchester City" and look for taxis. Walton-on-Thames, also seen in 'Bond of Fear'. (RL)

The two taxis leave "Winchester" station and head towards their respective destinations. Walton-on-Thames, also appears in 'Bond of Fear'. (RL)

One of the taxis arrives outside, what is referred to as, Cloister Avenue in the movie. In reality this is Bridge Street, Walton-on-Thames, Surrey. The houses were adjacent to Nettlefold Studios. The location was also seen in 'Glad Tidings', 'Madame Louise', 'Morning Call', 'The Naked Truth', 'Operation Diplomat' and 'Sleeping Tiger'. (SD)

The houses were demolished in 1961 along with the studio. The area (as seen in 2016) is now a car park behind the flats on Wellington Close. (SD)

Jeff and Laura, now knowing their connection, arrive at their temporary home.

Another shot of Jeff. Maybe someone can spot this location from the houses in the background.

Returning to "Winchester City" station, Jeff and Laura await the arrival of Professor Baker and Lola Sinclair. Walton-on-Thames, also seen in 'Bond of Fear'. (RL)

Similar shot to his Bond of Fear one, albeit off-angle, from John Harwood. (SJ)
