Ah, an Elstree and Borehamwood sign atop. The railway cottage in the background was also seen in 'Live Now, Pay Later' and the approach road in 'You Made Me Love You', 'School for Scoundrels' and 'The Executioner'.

Now "modernised." SJ but after ten years I have discovered I have the wrong side, alerted by John Cartledge who writes, "The entrance used in the film was the former Elstree-side ticket office in the original station buildings on the opposite side of the line, since demolished and built over with blocks of flats." Fortunately my colleague Phil got it right for "Live Now, Pay Later" and "School for Scoundrels" and there one can observe the unfortunate replacement of not only the entrance but also the charming railway cottage.

Shenley Road, Borehamwood east of Clarendon Road from "mariocki" and Anthony McKay on Britmovie. This parade of shops was also seen in 'Digby, the Biggest Dog in the World'.

This has to be Lancaster Gate, London W2. The street appears in 'The Secret Man', 'Murder Without Crime', 'Part Time Wife', 'The Broken', 'Endless Night' and 'Scandal'.

Ireland and Stephen at "The Royal General Hospital." Hmm, looks like someone's weekend cottage. A little more than that, as Shell Rubin tells us that this is 'Friars Mead', Barnet Lane, Elstree, Herts. The neighbouring property 'Abbots Mead', the former home of Stanley Kubrick, is currently for sale at £7m. (RL)
