Searching for a likely ex-convict to do a job for her, Laura Vane (Zena Marshall) parks outside the prison gates. Facing Wandsworth Prison at the junction of Heathfield Road and Heathfield Avenue in SW18. The location was seen in 'The Criminal', 'The Mail Van Murder', 'Law and Disorder', 'The Cracksman', 'Time Without Pity', 'Get Santa', 'There Was a Crooked Man' and 'Out of the Fog'.

And appears more lately in 'Captives', The 'Calcium Kid', 'Greenfingers', 'Mad Cows' among others yet to be "reelstreeted" SJ

After being released from the prison, Jake Winter (Griffith Jones) is approached by the woman and agrees to get into her car. Looking towards Trinity Road from Heathfield Avenue in Wandsworth.

Driving away from the prison, the two approach a roadside café. Facing north on Walton Bridge Road in Shepperton, Surrey.

Laura parks her car on the café's forecourt. Walton Bridge Road has seen new homes constructed on both sides of the road.

The pair enter the building where Laura hires Jake to recover a letter from a man who intends to blackmail her. This building survives as the Walton Bridge garage and was also seen in 'Something In The City' and 'The House of Blackmail'.

After paying him a first installment of £50, Laura gives Jake a lift into the City. This is Kingsway in London WC2 and the dome on the left stands above the entrance of the former Kingsway Hall. A street level shot of the location appears in 'There Was a Young Lady'.

Intrigued by the woman and the job, the undercover investigator watches as Laura drives away. Facing north on Kingsway in London WC2.

Jake crosses the road to enter the offices of the insurance company where he works to find that Susan Honeywell is now in charge. Across the road stands Imperial Buildings on Kingsway and this is at the junction with Great Queen Street and Remnant Street.

After Jake is framed for murder, Alf Rawlings spots him leaving Susan's apartment and telephones the police.

An 'all cars' alert is broadcast from police headquarters and patrols start to search for the fugitive. Richard Marum identifies the crossroads at Burlington Lane and Staveley Road adjacent to grounds of Chiswick House in W4.

Richard found that the fir trees have flourished over the past 70 years virtually hiding the house behind.

Jake heads to rescue Susan from Laura and Charles who have taken her to "The Quarterdeck", a secluded house by the river. Looking north on Great Chertsey Road towards Burlington Lane in Chiswick W4 identified by Mark Raynbird.

Pulling away from a side road, police officers take up the chase after spotting Jake's car speed past. Mark Raynbird explains that this is facing east at the junction of Edensor Road and Great Chertsey Road.

Jake turns off the main road, temporarily losing his pursuers. This is Walton Lane Bridge No.1 over the Desborough Channel on the edge of Weybridge in Surrey. The location also appears in 'Just Like a Woman'.
