If you have any information regarding this production, the locations or, even better, some comparison shots please contact us. Images submitted must be in Landscape orientation, as would be seen on the cinema screen, not Portrait.
We are aware that there are films on the site that were added when the criteria for the inclusion of locations was very different from today and, as a result, there may be scenes missing from some productions. Please do not forward additional screen captures to us but bring the detail to our attention, for we do, and are, 're-addressing' these older entries as time allows.

The country home of Benjamin Ballon and scene of much of the action. The only British location which IMDb identifies as Luton Hoo Estate, Luton, Bedfordshire. The location can also be found in 'Quills', 'Never Say Never Again', 'Four Weddings and a Funeral' and 'Portrait of Clare'.
Nick Knight confirms the location and even found the correct tree, but is honest enough to say that there are not many to choose from! (RL)

A panorama of Paris with the Eiffel Tower faintly visible in the centre background. All of the locations in Paris and the surrounding area appear to have been filmed by a second unit and this is just outside Sacre Coeur Basilica in Montmartre advises Paul Giverin.

Paul provides this clearer view of the Eiffel Tower.

Inspector Jacques Clouseau (Peter Sellers) stands in disguise as a balloon seller as Ballon's maid, Maria Gambrelli (Elke Sommer), leaves the prison. Frank Hustace advises that this set is based on the entrance to Les prisons de la Roquette on Rue de la Roquette in the 11th arrondissement of Paris and sends this link http://breves-histoire.fr/vestige-prison-petite-roquette/

A police van takes Clouseau away after he is arrested for not having a licence to sell balloons. This Parisienne location is identified by Paul Giverin as the junction of Rue Lamarck and Rue Caulaincourt in Montmartre which is seen several times from differing angles.

Nathan Sears faced west at the junction for this comparison.

Panning from the previous image, Clouseau's car enters an underpass . . . . After a search of Paris's tunnels, quite a few in her words, Daniela suggests Boulevard des Maréchaux which is confirmed by Paul Giverin.

Panic starts to rise when the pair get stopped at traffic signals. Following two years of research during which he has compared the position of over 300 metro station entrances, Paul Giverin has identified this as the junction of Boulevard de la Villette, Boulevard de Belleville, Rue de Faubourg du Temple and Rue de Belleville at the meeting of the 10th, 11th, 19th and 20th arrondissements in Paris.

Paul provides this view of the intersection as proof of the previously unidentified location. Image copyright Google.

Traffic congestion sees Clouseau and Maria arrested when they are found to be naked. Possibly a studio set. Certainly a studio set, see http://avengerland.theavengers.tv/studios/mgmblot.htm (RL)

The shadow of Clouseau's commanding officer, Commissioner Charles Dreyfus, is seen watching as the two arrive at Café Ole. Or is it Kato? Either way this looks like another set.
