Dr. Stephen Mitchell and his team race back to the Deanfield Space Centre after recovering film from their crashed rocket. St. Leonard's Road from the junction with Victoria Street, Clarence Road and Peascod Street in Windsor, Berkshire.

The crew continue to the base where Professor Koepler is waiting. Facing the opposite direction at the same junction with Peascod Street ahead and The Criterion public house on the corner of Victoria Street to the right.

Level crossing gates open as the Austin K8 van approaches. Pooley Green Level Crossing on Vicarage Road in Egham, Surrey. Vicarage Road continues off to the left and Vicarage Crescent can be made out to the right of centre. The same crossing was seen in 'Take a Girl Like You'.
Can't see the buildings for the trees in this ground level comparison. (PW)

Military Intelligence sends Dr. Smith to investigate the failure of the latest rocket mission and the disappearance of Dr. Crenshaw and Mrs. Mitchell. Aidan McManus identifies this as Wendover Court on the A40 Western Avenue in W3 with the now demolished Guinness brewery in the background.

The Investigator arrives at the home of Mrs. Rogers, the wife of a former guard at Deanfield. Wendover Court on Western Avenue in North Acton located by Aidan McManus.

Dr. Smith (Alan Wheatley) asks for directions to the Rogers' home. This appears to be Wendover Court with Western Avenue to the left.

When Mrs. Rogers answers the door, Dr. Smith learns that her husband was involved with the disappearance of Crenshaw and Vanessa. Facing north from Wendover Court with the Central Line tracks and the railway line running between Greenford and Old Oak Common in the bottom right. Location found by Aiden McManus.

Inside a nearby police station, Dr. Smith gets help from the local constabulary. The same police station was seen in 'The Adventures of P.C. 49: Investigating the Case of the Guardian Angel' and is identified by Ned Bintcliffe as the police station on Stomp Road in Burnham, Buckinghamshire. Ned adds that it was built in 1928, closed in 2013 and demolished for 'development' in 2015.

Ned provides this view of the station towards the end of Thames Valley Police occupation.

The house is reached just as foreign agent Dr. Philip Crenshaw is about to shoot Vanessa Mitchell. Phil B remembered that this house stands on The Leas in Peacehaven, Sussex, just west of Rushey Hill Caravan Park.

The house has quite recently undergone substantial extension. (PB)
