An establishing shot of the home of Hailsham-Browns where Clarissa is annoyed that her diplomat husband Henry has been ordered back to the office. Identified by Greg Chapman as the Edgwarebury Hotel, on Barnet Lane, Elstree in Hertfordshire. (RL)

On an evening when Clarissa is alone, Henry's first wife's husband, Oliver Costello, drives towards the house. Now known as The Manor Elstree - Laura Ashley Hotel, Greg provides its interesting history and the fact that it features in many other films including 'The Devil Rides Out', 'A Clockwork Orange' and 'So Evil, So Young' as well as episodes of The Avengers and Randall and Hopkirk Deceased. Greg adds that the front door was originally part of the dungeons in Lewes Castle. (RL)
