Storyline:
A British comedy directed by Martin Clunes, who also stars as the hapless Neil. Engaged to wealthy-but-boring heiress Hilary, Neil finds himself the object of a stag night prank three days before the wedding, courtesy of his friend and colleague, Gary – he is deposited naked on a remote Scottish island. Gary is Hilary’s ex-boyfriend and has ideas of his own to marry Hilary. On the way down from Scotland Neil gets himself into various hilarious escapades which invole Griff Rhys Jones as a studded jock-strap wearing sex maniac, several car crashes and periods in jail and a meeting with a beautiful but morbid pathologist, Carmen, who has ideas of her own about seducing Neil.

We are aware that there are films on the site that were added when the criteria for the inclusion of locations was very different from today and, as a result, there may be scenes missing from some productions. Please do not forward additional screen captures to us but bring the detail to our attention, for we do, and are, 're-addressing' these older entries as time allows.

Neil finds the solitary phone box on the Island of Barra, in the Outer Hebrides, Scotland. This phone box was likely just put there for the filming. The exact spot is just along the road that overlooks the beach. Barra's airport is claimed to be the only airport in the world to have regular scheduled flights landing on a beach.

Now without his car, he walks to a nearby cafe. This is the Oasis Cafe located at West Kingsdown, Sevenoaks TN15 6AZ.

Site visitor Keith Prested was in the area and managed to snap this updated 'now' shot and notes that it's still open as a cafe!

Graham (Griff Rhys Jones) gives Neil a lift but ends up taking him on a 'sales call'. Here they're turning off Maple Leaf Drive and onto Firside Grove in Sidcup.

Keith Prested managed to grab this updated 'now' shot and noticed that not a lot has really changed at this location.

Neil gets an unexpected ride from Carmen (Anna Chancellor) and they drive along Bow Road, Bow, London E3 2AN. As of 2019, the cafe, pub and petrol station in the background are all still there.

And still in 2023, we have William Hill, The Mighty Bite, The Little Driver and Texaco. SJ

Carmen and Neil ride in a taxi to the wedding. Antony Blair locates this as This is looking to the south-east at the junction of Church Road and Cuckoo Lane in Hanwell W7.

With a Reliant Rialto taking the place of the taxi, Antony Blair provides this comparison.
