After the house is sold to clear debts, the story moves on, to London. Victoria Street SW1 from the public conveniences in Vauxhall Bridge Road with Wilton Road on the extreme left, located by Richard Lovejoy who adds that the site of the properties filling the right background are now on their second, maybe even third, re-development.
The row of steak houses seen in "The Accidental Tourist" have been swept away in the new development on the right. SJ

Having met Matron Alison Gwynne in a tea shop, the penniless Shirley is taken to a hospital where she accepts the offer of a job. Dave W tells us that the hospital referred to, has to what was at the time, the Westminster Hospital, as here we are in John Islip Street, London SW1 with Page Street off to the left mid capture. The background is unchanged in contrast to the foreground. Westminster Hospital closed in 1992, soon after it kindly removed 75% of my wisdom teeth, with the building enshrouded in scaffolding as is customary for RS comparisons. SJ

After becoming involved with Gerald again whilst in North Africa, Shirley returns home with her friend Doris at the end of the war. Waterloo terminus in London SE1.

Learning from a newspaper that Major Ryton has married Alice Parker on his return home, Sister Yorke becomes Dr. Napier's assistant and travels with him to visit a patient, Lady Camber.

Following the death of Lady Camber, Shirley Yorke appears at the Coroner's Court along with Dr. Harris, Miss Peach, Gerald Ryton and Dr. Napier. The Town Hall on London Street in Chertsey, Surrey. The building can also be seen in 'Trent's Last Case' and ‘The First Men in the Moon’.
