The camera moves to find the office where messages are sent out to quash any rumours about aliens landing on Earth. More of 41 Lothbury. which also features in 'Pool of London' and 'Hidden City'.

Unfortunately (see previous) not all the scaffolding has gone and this wider view shows that the portion of building we're interested in is still adorned. SJ

Sensing her arrival, the Stranger (Helmut Dantine) wishes Susan North (Patricia Neal) a good morning as he tends the inn's garden in exchange for food and lodgings. The grounds of the Edgwarebury Hotel, on Barnet Lane, Elstree in Hertfordshire.

A redesign to the front lawn and drive and, worse, the sphinxes have gone, as I wrote in Aug '22. This improved angle shows yet another redesign to the roundabout lawn. SJ

Susan asks if the Stranger can "read" people's thoughts. The Edgwarebury Hotel, currently known as The Manor Elstree, can also seen in ‘Not Now Comrade’, ‘The Spider’s Web’, ‘The Rough and the Smooth’ and ‘The Liquidator’ as well as many other productions.
