Alex Greville drives to stay over at Alva and Bill Hodson house for the weekend. Peter Astaire provides the location, Strand, London WC2 approaching the left turn on to Waterloo Bridge. (RL)

The Lyceum Tavern, 354 Strand, with cream paintwork on its upper three storeys on the right, stands out for me in both pictures as we look south-west. SJ

This is almost the same spot as the end of Smashing Time. SJ

The Doctor runs to his car in the rain. Tony Travers identifies the location as Percy Street looking towards Rathbone Street, London W1. The public house on the corner is The Marquis of Granby.

And turning left towards Peeping Tom's newsagent. SJ

A previous acquaintance (Jon Finch) heads for the car.

This time in daylight, Tony Travers found the location at Pelham Street in SW7. Replacing his proving Google. SJ

The former Swiss Tourist Office, Leicester Square. The corner of Leicester Street and Wardour Street, London W1. The building was demolished in 2008.

As can be seen, the replacement building is so full of character and charm! (PW)

The addition of railings and the growth of vegetation over the years changes the view quite considerably. (RL)

Without a camera jib the shot had to be taken from the telescope stand. Quite a change in the skyline over the years. (RL)

Supposed to be Greenwich, looks like Barnes, probably Hampstead Heath! An unknown location.

Bob visits the airline office for a smallpox vaccination. Providing this additional capture, Ben C identifies this as the offices of TWA which still stand at 380 Kensington High Street in W14 on the corner of Russell Road. The location also appears in 'Side by Side',

Ben discovered that the ground floor has since been converted and the former entrance is currently a Costa Coffee but looking down the road can be been seen the white painted Hand and Flower public house, which was the brown building seen through the windows in the right distance of the screen capture.

Daniel visits the Italian Tourist Office to collect literature for his holiday with Bob. Ben C recognised the bulding as being diagonally opposite Galleries Lafayette Ltd., currently Hamleys, on the corner of Regent Street and Conduit Street in W1.

Ben advises that the premises are now occupied by Church's shoe shop, in which parts of the ornate interior can still be seen, and the staff allowed him to take this shot.

Alex arrives at the home of Alva and Bill Hodson, mutual friends of both her and Dr. Hirsh. Spencer Park opposite Wandsworth Common, London SW18 identified in London Movie Guide.

Definitely needs a winter, early spring shot. Nothing conclusive here as one can't make out the houses in the background but this is about where the camera was. SJ

Trees have come and gone but I think the far left matches the one in front of Finch's head. SJ

Alex returns home. Bradbrook House, Studio Place in Knightsbridge SW1 identified by Ben Chisholme who also provides this screen capture.

Ben found that it's been smartened up since 1970 and the front door has been replaced.
