Suspect

A pan right begins in front of the Haughton Research Laboratory, where Dr. Robert Marriott and his team are carrying out pioneering work. Nick Pollard identifies this building as Poplar House, the former BP Research Centre on Chertsey Road in Sunbury-on-Thames, Middlesex. Other views of the building appear in 'Heaven's Above!' as well as 'It's Trad, Dad!'.

With the title sequence over, the shot settles on the Franklin Evans Wing where concierge Arthur knocks on Professor Sewell's door asking for Dr. Byrne. Located by Nick Pollard, this building is the staff restaurant of the BP Research Centre on Chertsey Road, Sunbury-on-Thames.

Dr. Byrne's former fiancé Alan Andrews (Ian Bannen) arrives at the facility looking for Dr. Marriott. Nick Pollard found the grounds of Poplar House in Sunbury-on-Thames which has since been demolished.

The disabled Korean War veteran walks towards the Franklin Evans Wing where Arthur shows him to the Doctor's laboratory. Poplar House, the former BP Research Centre on Chertsey Road in Sunbury-on-Thames, Middlesex recognised by Nick Pollard.

Dr. Frederick Shole (Kenneth Griffith) leaves for work. The Kensington street lamp in the following capture took Dave W to 7 Harley Gardens, London SW10. (RL)

As the Doctor closes his gate, a car door opens and Slater calls out. Following on from the previous capture Dave says that we are looking past the street lamp, along Harley Gardens towards Milbourne Grove. (RL)

Telling him that he's been sent to collect him, Slater (Sam Kydd) gets into the car beside Dr. Shole. Again, looking, along Harley Gardens towards Milbourne Grove. (RL)

The Humber Hawk arrives on a nondescript street that puzzles the Doctor. Dave W assembles the clues evident to him in this and the following two captures to tell us that we are in Manresa Road, London SW3 looking towards the east side of Chelsea Square. (RL)

Dr. Shole questions Slater about entering the shabby premises to meet Mr. Prince from the Ministry. Following on from the previous capture, Manresa Road, London SW3. (RL)

Quite a difference on Manresa Road. SJ

Turning when he hears "Officer", a Policeman (George Hilsdon) turns to find no one there. Once again Dave tells us that we remain in Manresa Road looking towards Chelsea Square but the house attracting the officers attention has been redeveloped, looking at the previous capture it is perhaps not surprising. With a Teddy Boy (Murray Melvin) holding the receiver for him, Andrews call Dr. Marriott and an evening out together is arranged. The Boltons in SW10 with St. Mary the Boltons church visible in the background.

Sir George Gatting (Raymond Huntley) honours the research carried out at the laboratory by unveiling a statue. Nick Pollard discovered Poplar House on Chertsey Road in Sunbury-on-Thames.

Dr. Robert Marriott (Tony Britton) telephones Bill Brown as previously arranged. The prop telephone kiosk stands on The Boltons in the Brompton area of Kensington.

The box was in front of the pillar and rather a lot of road has been lost to pavement. SJ

On another morning, Slater tells Dr. Shole that Mr. Prince would like to see him again.

Back at 7 Harley Gardens, SW10. SJ

Dr. Lucy Byrne (Virginia Maskell) accompanies Andrews to the Metropolitan Centre for Disabled Officers. Facing north-west on Thistle Grove SW10 towards Roland Gardens.

It looks like a potential lost pub on the corner with Holly Mews but a search hasn't come up with anything. SJ

Watching Lucy walk away, Andrews turns and heads home. Thistle Grove at the junction with Holly Mews with the backs of properties on Evelyn Gardens to the top left.

Dr. Marriott is taken by Brown to meet with Rosson who will take photographs of his research papers. Shepperton Studios in Littleton, Surrey, to the east of Littleton House.

The car turns towards the front door of the International Scientific Exchange.
