Terror Street

A plane carrying Major Rogers on an unauthorised trip across the Atlantic passes over the British coast.

With a 36 hour leave pass, Major Bill Rogers (Dan Duryea) walks from the base where he landed. It's not certain but this is facing west on Hibbert Road to the north-west of Bray in Berkshire.

The Driver of a USAF Jeep picks the Major up and gives him a lift to West London. Bray Road at the junction of Hibbet Road in Bray with the tower of St Michael's church, Bray in the centre distance.

Picking up a cab from Hammersmith, Major Rogers arrives outside the the film's Craven Court in W4 where he lived with his wife Katie. In reality, this is Ennismore Gardens in London SW7 with the entrance to Ennismore Gardens Mews across the road.

The American jet pilot enters the building and makes his way to the empty flat where he finds his unopened letters behind the front door. Facing west outside Kingston House South on Ennismore Gardens, a building which can also be seen in 'Suspended Alibi', 'Cross-Roads', ‘The Vicious Circle’ and 'Escape Route'.

Learning from a Neighbour that his wife has taken an apartment in the West End, Bill bribes the Desk Clerk to let him inside where a photo brings back memories of a furlough in England and his first meeting with Katie.

With bells ringing, the Police hurry to Katie's apartment at the West End Manor after being alerted by Orville Hart who knocked Bill out before shooting his estranged wife. The Midland Bank, Rotherhithe Tunnel Branch at 345 Jamaica Road SE16 where Jamaica Road met Lower Road. All demolished as part of the disputed Southwark Park extension and now part King's Stairs Gardens. This footage originally appeared in 'Pool of London'. (RL)

Recovering consciousness and finding the murder weapon in his hand, Bill flees from the building when he hears a knock at the door. The steps at the rear of the Guildhall on Market Street in Windsor, Berkshire.

This is Market Street, which can also be seen during 'A Case for P.C. 49' and 'Allez France!', with Queen Charlotte Street to the extreme right, which appears in 'The Last Page' and 'Tunes of Glory'.

Bill dodges into an alley as the police car approaches before escaping to take refuge in the home of Jenny Miller.

As Detectives search for clues in Katie's apartment, Bill leaves Jenny asleep in her flat. The towpath on the Grand Union Canal where it converges with the River Brent to the north of Brentford Bridge in Brentford, Middlesex with the spire of St. Paul’s church in the centre distance.

Bill steps out of a telephone box after calling the front desk at the West End Manor posing as a newspaper reporter. Alongside the shared course of the Grand Union Canal and River Brent as they pass through Brentford with Durham Wharf on the opposite bank behind the prop call box.

Antony found that the telephone box has turned into a bike rack and a tree in blossom.

Having obtained the address of Harry Cross, the Clerk on duty the previous evening, the Major sets out to find him. Brentford Bridge carrying Brentford High Street over the Grand Union Canal and the River Brent.

Harry's address is checked on the way. To the west of The Ham in Brentford, looking north through an arch of the viaduct carrying the railway to Brentford Dock from Southall. A similar view can be seen towards the start of 'Undercover Girl'.

Happy that he's on the right road, Bill passes beneath a railway viaduct. This is the now much redeveloped waste land between the Grand Union Canal and The Ham in Brentford, Middlesex.

Learning from Harry that Katie had many friends visiting her apartment, Bill Rogers pays a visit to Orville Hart (John Chandos).

At the Charity Mission where she works, Bill asks Jenny Miller to help him find the truth about Katie's murder.

Watched by Bill from a milk bar, Jenny Miller (Gudrun Ure) crosses to Century Safe Deposit with the keys that Bill discovered in Katie's apartment door.

Following his Sergeant from Craven Court, the Inspector (Michael Golden) investigating Katie's death leaves the building. Facing the entrance of 1-32 Kingston House South on Ennismore Gardens.

Returning to his apartment, Bill sees the police car depart before entering. Ennismore Gardens in Kensington SW7,

After Bill is attacked by Henry Slosson, one of Katie's admirers, the assailant drives them both to the shop owned as a front by his uncle, smuggler R. Slosson.

The story comes to a close as Bill returns to Milden Field US Air Force base.

Saying farewell to each other, Jenny is driven away as Bill the base.
