Now picture supplied by Peter who comments "That could be me in my Weaver to Wearer waisted jacket going up the steps to the then Regent Street Polytechnic where I took courses in Engineering".

Clues here for those old directories. Richard Lovejoy suggests circa 291 Regent Street.

And Peter confirms the location with this picture.

Richard spotted Henry Botterill and adds "Now there is a blast from the past. 308 Regent Street and I think they are still there".

A shot sent in by Peter which indeed shows the shop of G & H Botterill, now with an awning.

Some more good clues here. And Richard says "155 to 159 Kensington High Street. I believe the white finials are still there".

Keil arrives at her club for work. Richard informs us "140 Kensington High Street, now Santander Bank looking towards whatever is now on the other corner of Camden Hill Road".

A CND march in the sticks. This is the 1963 Aldermaston march passing through the village of Burghfield Common near Reading, Berkshire. Behind the demonstrators is Mrs Bland's School which was established in 1872 at the junction of School Lane and Reading Road. (SR)

The telegraph poles and kerbside drain are all that remain in the comparison as the school was demolished in the 1960s and replaced with Blands Court. (SR)
