Tom Conway, a private detective, ex-FBI, is discharged by his employer, because he is getting too close to the truth. However, he stays on the jewel theft case after a model with information for him is murdered.

The safe of “Pascal” is robbed and the following morning Mr Mercedes (Eric Pohlman) and Tom Conway, Private Investigator (Tom Conway) visit the premises. Cavendish Square, looking at the northern side.

The traffic is definitely one way these days.

After interviewing some of the models Tom heads back to the offices of Mercedes, which adjoins a branch of Lloyds Bank. I felt that I should know this but JT gets there quicker, Berkeley Square in London W1 which can also be seen in ‘I’ll Never Forget You', 'A Nightingale Sang in Berkeley Square', 'I'll Never Forget What's 'isname', 'Two Gentlemen Sharing', 'Go to Blazes', 'The Walking Stick' and 'The Titfield Thunderbolt'.

Peter found the same columns now behind the glass of a new building named as Berkeley Square House.

Meanwhile Tom approaches the offices from the other direction and subsequently finds a reason to visit Lady Marchant (Margaret Halstan). Looking at the southern side of the Square.

Finding Lady Marchant dead he heads off to the offices of D.I. MacLeod (Richard Wattis) at “West End Central” police station, Saville Row. Davies Street, London, W1

A little busier these days, an even greater need for those lights.

Tom leaves his apartment to see that Eddie is parked just behind him. Maitland Court, Gloucester Terrace entrance. Also seen in 'Mantrap', 'Whispering Smith Hits London', 'Paul Temple Returns', 'Hammer the Toff', 'Salute the Toff', 'The Italian Job', 'The Saint’s Return', 'Operation Diplomat' and 'Flannelfoot'.

I still prefer the original background terrace.

Tom is immediately “picked up” by Mercedes minders to take him to the airport. Mercedes has re-appointed him to New York to “get him out of the way”.

By co-incidence two "heavies" emerged from Cerney Mews when I was there but fortunately they did not want to remove me.

Mercedes escapes from the police and telephones to arrange someone to collect some money from his home so that he can go abroad. Albert Embankment, London SE1

There has never been a telephone box in the middle of these steps to my knowledge!

He arranges to meet them at Conduit Street car park, but someone he was not expecting kills him. Now the site of Burberry and the Westbury Hotel, the corner of Conduit St and New Bond St, London. Thereafter no significant outside filming.

Take from the diagonal corner where Mercedes is entering, he is probably somewhere in what is now the Westbury Hotel.
