After losing her sight whilst working in the tunnel, Ruth McAllan (Madge Evans) is led through the gardens of her country cottage.

Despite numerous setbacks and deaths, the tunnel is finally opened. Much of the model work in this film is borrowed from the 1933 German version of the story ‘Der Tunnel’.
