A milkman makes his round as rubbish is emptied into bins. Looking towards buildings on Gloucester Road through the archway of Kynance Mews on Launceston Place in Kensington.

Peter found that the church tower, standing behind the tree on the left, is currently shrouded by scaffolding.

A young lad delivers newspapers. Facing west on the west branch of Kynance Mews SW7. The area has been seen in ‘Who Dares Wins’, ‘Star!’, ‘Black Windmill’ and ‘Scandalous’.

After being caught reading a pornographic novel at the breakfast table, Sybil Londonderry cycles to school. Looking toward Launceston Place from Kynance Mews.

Peter visited the mews.

Meeting a friend along the way Sibyl, known as Twinky to her lover, continues towards school as the film’s theme song plays.

No young cyclists when Peter visited.

Twinky and her school friends arrive at their destination. Hortensia Road in SW10 with Carlyle School, now the National Ballet School, to the left and the since replaced building of the Chelsea Westminster Adult Education Institute, formerly Sloane Grammar School, in the centre background.

Peter found a bit of redevelopment and further reconstruction in progress.

The young heiress arrives outside author Scott Wardman’s apartment. The view is from 91 Cheyne Walk in Chelsea SW3, identified by Simon James in his book ‘London Film Location Guide’.

Learning that her lover is to be deported, the couple part company and Twinky leaves the apartment in tears. Beaufort Street, London SW3.

Peter reveals more of the building.

Scott Wardman (Charles Bronson) follows Twinky from the building and calls to her as she crosses the busy road. Looking along Beaufort Street from Cheyne Walk.

As they walk together reminiscing, the two realise that they are in love. Chelsea Embankment as seen through Albert Bridge. We were also here in 'Only When I Larf', 'Clockwork Orange', 'Touch and Go' and 'The Optimists of Nine Elms'.

Peter provides a less blurred view of the passageway.

Scott and Twinky talk about marriage but in England, to wed without consent one has to be over 21. Beneath the statue of Thomas Carlyle in Chelsea Embankment Gardens SW3.

Passing a travel agent the two see an advertisement for Scotland, where marriage laws are different. This is the bend in King’s Road in SW10 with Moravian Tower under construction in the background. The location has been seen many times before including in ‘Sapphire’, ‘An Alligator Named Daisy’ and ‘Victim’.

Scott brings the car to a stand outside the apartment block that he’ll now share with his young bride. Beaufort Street with the Thomas More Estate to the right.

That makes a change, less parked cars in Peter's modern view. The red lines may have something to do with it.

The couple head into New York after being met at the airport by Scott's parents and his friend Hal. Manhattan Bridge crosses this scene of New York’s Lower Manhattan while FDR Drive follows the East River to the bottom left.

Looking for reasonably priced accommodation, Scott and Twinky leave an apartment block in a rougher part of the city.

On another day, Hal (Orson Bean) drives Scott to pick his wife up from school.

The two friends watch as a demonstration takes place outside the school building.

While Scott is serving 30 days for hitting a Police Officer during the demonstration, Twinky rents a flat from a Landlord (Jack Somack) who thinks his luck may be in. Queensboro Bridge is prominent through the window of the apartment in the block at 35 Sutton Place alongside East 59th Street.

Twinky cycles around New York looking for things to decorate the new home. In the background stands the New York Cultural Center on Columbus Circle between Broadway and 8th Avenue which was built in 1965.

The search for suitable art work continues as Scott languishes in jail.

A brief halt for something to eat.

When Scott is released from jail, the couple go skating. The Wollman Rink in Central Park, New York 10065.

With money running out, Scott tells Hal that he has difficulty writing his new book due to Twinky distracting him.

When the relationship starts to turn sour, Scott talks with his friend Hal.

After Twinky goes missing, the two pals watch a patrol boat set out to search the river. Looking across the East River from Pier 16 of the East River Esplanade with Brooklyn Bridge in the distance and Manhattan Bridge beyond.

The friends turn and leave the riverside. Facing landward from Pier 16, New York 10006 with buildings on South Street beyond FDR Drive to the centre.

Back at the apartment, Scott holds Twinky’s doll before discovering that she is hiding in the building’s cellar.

After the two realise that the relationship is over, Twinky takes one last look across Central Park.
