The film opens with views of the school for people with learning difficulties where Pete Durnley lives. Located by Steve Randall, this is in the grounds of Harperbury Hospital on Harper Lane, London Colney in Hertfordshire.

More residents of the school are seen as the camera pans. Steve Randall identifies Harperbury Hospital on Harper Lane in London Colney which closed in 2001. The Kingsley Green mental health facility opened on the site in May 2009.

The camera pans further to reveal Martin Durnley (Hywel Bennett) playing catch with his younger brother Pete (Unnamed). The grounds of Harperbury Hospital in London Colney, Hertfordshire found by Steve Randall.

Susan Harper (Hayley Mills) is suspected of helping Martin to shop lift when he's apprehended by a Store Detective. The tiling reads 'Randall's', whose department store stands on Vine Street in Uxbridge, Middlesex. The shop was also seen in 'Victim'.

The store closed in 2015 and is shortly to be converted to flats and shops. This is the right hand entrance if the screen capture was for the left hand I have a very similar shot for that. (RL)

From a taxi, Martin watches as Susan leaves for her library job with Shashee Kadir (Salmaan Peerzada). Ian Hedgcock identifies this as Cambridge Park in Twickenham.

Susan and Shashee turn a corner as Martin trails along in the background. Ian tells us that this is the junction of Richmond Road and Cambridge Park in Twickenham.
