Having met Annette in the French resistance before losing his memory during the war, Tom begins to investigate the woman’s claims at the French Embassy.

The next port of call is the Vine Court Hotel where Paul, another former member of the resistance, is staying. Shepperton Studios in Littleton, Middlesex. Asimilar view can be seen in 'Faces in the Dark' and 'A Matter of Choice'.

Knowing that he can’t have been married in France, Tom leaves the bank as he starts to raise the £10,000 that Annette has demanded as a divorce settlement. Alex M pinpoints this as High Street in Bushey, Hertfordshire at the junction with Bournehall Road looking west. The street also features in 'Man Accused', 'Johnny on the Spot' and 'Three Crooked Men'. (RL)

The respected Doctor walks around to the driver’s seat of the Standard Vignale and gets in next to Janet. Following on from the previous capture, in High Street, Bushey Alex M tells us that the building in the middle distance with a white side and visible wooden beams in unchanged (it is a local dentists). To obtain more funds Tom takes his car to a dealer. Mark Amies  advises that the garage stood at the corner of Dennis Lane and Broadway in Stanmore, Middlesex and Cottrell Cottages can be seen standing in the left background. The garage was demolished in the late 70s to make way for a branch of Safeway with offices above and the supermarket is currently occupied by Lidl.

Mark Amies found it impossible to take a comparison at the correct angle as the supermarket gets in the way.
