The film captures take Susan Allin back to her time at the school:
“I attended Manadon Vale Primary School when this film was made. I and most my class were filmed for the opening shots of us running down the school drive, we were told to pretend it was our last day of school before breaking up for the summer we had to laugh and look very happy!
Our class were gathered in the hall and names were drawn to see who would be the lucky ones to play a minor part in the film. Most of us obviously did not but I remember the names of several of ones who were. I remember days when those children were not in school because they were filming. After it was over the film company sent us boxes & boxes of sweets which the teachers shared out between us. I found the whole thing very exciting and it is something I have never forgotten.”

If you have any information regarding this production, the locations or, even better, some comparison shots please contact us. Images submitted must be in Landscape orientation, as would be seen on the cinema screen, not Portrait.
We are aware that there are films on the site that were added when the criteria for the inclusion of locations was very different from today and, as a result, there may be scenes missing from some productions. Please do not forward additional screen captures to us but bring the detail to our attention, for we do, and are, 're-addressing' these older entries as time allows.

Brian Lucas identifies this as Saxon Avenue in Hanworth, Middlesex with Norman House in the left background. Brian adds that "To the right there is still an open space where my friends and I used to play in the 1950s and 60s."

Very little has change as can be seen in Brian's comparison and even the site of the telephone kiosk can be seen to the bottom left.

Dy Taylor has identified this as Compton Knoll House that was at the end of Hartley Avenue, Plymouth and likes to think that filming included the interior as well. Dy has since drawn our attention to a photograph of the house, taken in 1966, towards its end that can be viewed here https://www.flickr.com/photos/plymouthhistory/6012378331 Unfortunately, copyright prevents us from showing it directly on our Site.
