Peter Brown captured the location now, completely unrecognisable as the original station entrance and surrounding buildings have been replaced by Gateway House.

As the truck pulls away, the camera follows to reveal the LNER Grain Warehouse that once stood on Store Street. London Road was renamed Piccadilly in September 1960.

The background warehouses have long since disappeared from Peter Brown's view.

Panning further brings more of Station Approach into view as well as Piccadilly and the junction with Ducie Street.

Later in the film, a car brings Jimmy and Ben to a Police Station to a pick up a deserter. Beech Road, Chorlton-cum-Hardy in Lancashire found by David Caunce.

David captured the scene now, Beech Road looking towards the Horse & Jockey public house.

The pair get out of the car. Further along Beech Road in Chorlton-cum-Hardy located by David Caunce who points out the corner of the police station on the left.

David's comparison shows alterations to the former police station which has been the Lead Station bar & restaurant for many years.

Jimmy and Ben enter the Police Station to collect the dangerous McCarthy. Facing the police station on Beech Road in Chorlton-cum-Hardy, Lancashire identified by David Caunce.

The right hand bay window has since been removed in David's shot.
