Storyline:

Two brothers work for their invalid father in his garage repair business. Johnny is quiet and reliable whereas his step brother is younger and wilder. The brothers feud over Lucky a singer with a band who Ted brings home late one night. Additional problems evolve as Ted is wanted by the police for questioning in connection with the murder of a man at Lucky’s night club and his gambling debts mount.

Constable Parker proceeds in a westerly direction along St James Street, W6 to the Police Call Box on which the light is flashing.

Much more desirable with a coat of paint.

The box is strategically placed on the pavement by "props" at the side of The Star public house (now The Chancellors) in St James Street.

Now the police have mobile phones.

He is told to watch The Star public house in Crisp Road, Hammersmith, W6 for the appearance of Ted Reid (Bryan Forbes). The location also features in 'Love in Pawn', 'Home to Danger' and 'The Long Arm'.

Now known as The Chancellors.

Det. Sgt. Simpson (John Horsley) and his driver pull over to see if Ted is returning home by bus. Crisp Road, Hammersmith a similar shot to The Long Arm 006.

Buses have never run along Crisp Road as far as I know, certainly not the No 96 to Putney Common.

Det. Sgt Simpson leaves the café at 21 Crisp Road, opposite, supposedly, the garage where Ted lives and works with his step brother Johnny Burrows (Patric Doonan) and their father.

Kelly's says that this was a confectioners, maybe they dressed the frontage to look like a café as the adverts at the top of the window say "St. Julien" which was a make of tobacco. You could probably buy your "backy" there now.

Same place without a bus and the access over the pavement is still there.

After finally arresting Ted Det Sgt Simpson advises Johnny that Ted was complicit in the premature death of their father. To the left of the L Carter premises.

Kelly's says that No 19 on the end were "Dining Rooms" and you can still eat there today.
