Jimmy Snow worked on special effects at both Pinewood and Denham Studios but a name that often remained uncredited, as with this film. An interesting Biography and her Memories of him has been written for us by his granddaughter Brigitte, all of which can be read here.

As the credits roll, views of fictional Wilchester are seen beneath the cast and crew. Clive T. identifies this as Lewes in Sussex seen from the southernmost end of a small road on the south-eastern side of the town called Chapel Hill. To the left is the Cliffe Cut of the River Ouse.
This is viewed from opposite the club house at the entrance to Lewes Golf Club. (SD)

The scene cuts to a closer view of the gas holder standing between the watercourse and a roadway. Lewes Gasworks off South Street stand to the left. Location found after much research by Clive T.
Lewes Gasworks has since been demolished. In 1998 the houses and flats of Hillman Close were built on the site. (SD)

Moving on, a character appears in one of the provincial city’s narrow streets. Clive T. discovered Keere Street in Lewes, Sussex.
At the top of Keere Street there is now a sign post. On the right are bookcases of The Fifteenth Century Bookshop. (SD)

Through the titles the Yeoman’s Hospital day shift Porter approaches. Facing west outside Bull House on High Street in Lewes, now East Sussex, located by Clive T.

The Porter walks through the gateway to the hospital. Looking through the archway at the entrance to Pitzhanger Manor House on Mattock Lane, Ealing W5 recognised by Clive T.
Antony Blair returned to the scene some 70 years later.

Shortly after, an ambulance passes through the gateway with bells ringing. Clive T. found the driveway of Pitzhanger Manor in Walpole Park with the chimneys of properties on Mattock Lane and Bond Street behind Percival Lodge to the left.

Carefully taken from the ambulance, a patient is rushed to the casualty department. The doors of Pitzhanger Manor identified by Clive T. The house also appears in 'Dead of Night' and 'Who Done It?'.
Taken by Antony, this is the door of the annexe to the right of the main entrance.
