Robbery – Location shots (1992)

Paul Halley was on his way to work on the 22nd December 1992 when he took the opportunity to stop and take these location shots associated with his favourite movie. Photographic imagery has moved on from the days of roll film but how precious these pictures of times past are of a location so integral to the film. Whilst the actual robbery took place at Mentmore Bridge, Bucks, for the purposes of the movie filming was undertaken at Partington Bridge, near Theddingworth, Leicestershire. With thanks to Paul for sharing them with us.

Since this picture was taken the view has changed greatly as there is now a new farmhouse on the right. The farmer stores a lot of his farm equipment, up on the old trackbed, and the equipment can usually be seen, when driving along the old A427 (now re-numbered) towards Market Harborough. I don’t think he’d take kindly to me re-visiting the same scene on the bridge today so I am glad that I took this and other pictures when I did. Little did I know how things were soon to change!
